Jen's POV

My view hasn't changed. It's been a month and I still want to be on the receiving end, it just looks so good, so satisfying. I don't know. I'm just going to wait and see, I'm terrified of all of this.

I'm back in LA with Scarlett and Piper is on leave, I don't know why though, she failed to mention the reason. She kinda kept to herself after the one night stand, I think seeing her ex is what's made her so introverted and glum. I feel bad for her, she's good. She's a good person. I can tell. You can tell.

"Mommy mommy there's a police man at the door," Scarlett runs into me where I search in the kitchen for my work phone.

"What'd I tell you about answering the door without telling me," I scold her as she leads me out to the front door.

"I'm sorry," She stops and looks down at her feet.

"It's okay just don't do it again," I assure her lifting her up onto my hip then completing the journey to the front door.

Two tall policemen stand on my doorstep, both with strong statutes and a look of annoyance.

"Jennifer Lawrence?" They ask me and I nod gulping as I muster the words to reply. What could this be? More shit from Darren?

"Yes,"

"We're here about a member of your security team. A Piper Bunton?" He asks conformation that he's pronounced her name correctly.

"Yes Uh What's this about?" I ask them curiously as Scarlett moves further into my chest, she's always a lot more weary of men than she is women.

"She's been arrested for assault and battery. She gave you as her contact and needs to be bailed out," They explain and my mind's set in a state of haywire.

"Why did she give me?"

"I don't know, you'll have to take that up with her. She needs to be bailed out in the next three hours or will be kept in custody and tried unless the bail and fines are paid," They walk down the steps dismissing the conversation.

"Where is she?" I shout down to them. They're ignorant bastards these two.

"The Hollywood Precinct," They call back.

"You might want to bail her out before the deadline, she's in pretty rough shape," They tell me one last chaotic piece of information before they're gone.

I wasted no time in trying to get to the root of my dilemma I went to the station and had Laura come over to look after Scar and Alex. As soon as I set my eyes on Piper she was slumped against the side of the grey gloomy wall of a cold starkly lit communal cell. The officer was right. She looks completely shattered and beaten, worse than London and I didn't even think that was possible. The cell is near to empty apart from two men, one looks particularly brooding and as though he wouldn't mind beating Piper more than she already is. The other is passed out with his skinny body slumped on the floor on the other side of the cell.

"Piper," I call into her and she lifts her head off the wall with a pained expression before forcing herself into her legs. Making it over to me she uses the metal bars between us as support, leaning against them in a disorientated manner.

Looking at her full appearance I take notes to myself of what places must be in the most pain. She holds her arm into her stomach and she has less weight supported on her left leg. What the fuck has she gone and done.

"What happened?"

Her eyes meet mine for the first time and I'm met with one bloodshot and the other completely red with a burst blood vessel.

She attempts replying but just starts to cough and splutter revealing her blood stained teeth.

"Hold on a second," I dismiss her answering until she's of sound mind.

With a lot to do I got her bailed out as fast as I could. You may think it's ridiculous that I'm bailing her out but she's my friend as well as my security.

Helping her into the car she grunts and hisses in pain. Getting in beside her I take this as my opportunity to find out what happened but first I need to find out the extent of her pain.

"Why didn't they take you to the emergency room?" I question her knowing she shouldn't have been in custody in that type of shape.

"I told them not to," She replies in a raspy tone.

"Why?"

"I can't afford it," She tells me truthfully.

"Well I can so we're going," I reply putting the keys in the ignition.

Grabbing the steering wheel She fights me.

"No. You're not paying for me to be seen to over my own stupidity. I'll get some pain killers, I'll be fine," She tells me firmly and I just nod.

"I'm not leaving you on your own. You stayed with me when I broke my arm. It's only fair that I do the same," I explain to her.

"No it's fine seriously you don't need to do that," She tries to decline my offer but I'm not letting her. She can't be on her own like this.

"It's non optional Piper. You're staying at mine tonight whether you like it or not,"

Relenting she just nods before leaning her head against the car window. I'll ask her about everything later, she's in a bad place at the minute, I don't want to make her feel worse by making her relive it.

Her life's been a downward spiral since New York I just hope it begins to look up soon.

A/N: What're you guys thinking about all of the Piper beating?? Hating me or loving me? I'm pretty sure a lot of you don't like Piper tbh
