"Peter!" Natasha said. "I know you have super healing, but you can't walk out in front of traffic."
"Sorry." Peter replied. "I'm used to swinging from the buildings."
"It's okay. Just be careful." She said.
They walked across the road when the signal changed. They were going to the library. Peter had a book report and Natasha liked going with him. They walked in and found the section with his assigned reading. The assignment was to read a modern novel and compair it to a classic. They had read 'The Lord of the Flies' in class, so Peter decided to read 'The Maze Runner'.
Peter checked the book out and sat down in a large chair. This was his first mistake. Natasha wandered around, looking at the books in the mystery section. This was the second mistake. The third mistake was when Peter put his earbuds in. He was relaxed, so his Spidy Sence wasn't on high alert.
The paperback was suddenly jerked out of his hands. He looked up to see Flash Thompson holding the book. He smirked at Peter who ripped his earbuds out. Flash read a couple of sentances mockingly.
"I can't wait to tell everyone at school they you like girly books." Flash said.
"Have you even read the book?" Peter asked.
Flash snorted. "I read it last year because you took my spot in Honors English."
"Give it back." Peter said.
"I don't want to. I think I'll hang on to it for a little bit." Flash said, holding the book of Peter's head.
Peter didn't want to involve Natasha, yet at least. Flash started walking towards the exit. Peter could use his webs to get the book back, but Flash would give his crap for being Spider-man. He did the next best thing; jumping onto Flash's back and grabbing at the book with one hand. Flash was laughing. He reared a hand back and hit Peter in the face. Peter fell and was having a hard time remembering not to use his powers. Flash kicked him in the ribs and started to walk off with the book. Peter whistled five short whistles.
It took less than ten seconds for Natasha to appear. She jumped out of a window and landed in front of Flash. He stopped and stared. Natasha got up and smiled sweetly.
"Hi." She said. "I think you have something of my friend's."
"You're friends with Parker?" Flash scoffed. "I have two questions."
"Go right ahead." She said in a gentle voice.
"First, how much did he pay you. Second, where can I find a girl like you?" He asked. His eyes travled over her, lingering a little to long over her chest.
"Come here and I'll tell you." She said with a sickly sweet smile.
Flash walked over to her. She grabbed his shirt coller, dropped him, grabbed the book, and walked over to Peter. She knelt down and felt if his ribs were broken. When she assessed that they weren't, she helped him up. Flash was yelling at her. He was still on his back, but was begging her not to tell anyone she dropped him.
"You okay?" She asked.
"Yeah. I'm fine." Peter said. They walked back to the Avenger's tower. Steve and Tony were watching TV. Bucky was asleep with his head on Steve's shoulder. The rest of the Avengers were probably in their rooms. Natasha took Peter to his room (For when he decided to move out of Aunt May's appartment.) so he wouldn't have to watch whatever boring movie Steve was watching. She walked back into the living room and stood in front of the TV.
"What's up, Momma Spider?" Tony asked.
"Who is Flash Thompson?" She asked.
"I don't know." Tony said.
"Is he a sport person?" Steve asked.
"He's a high schooler." She said and walked off.
She went to her room and sat down at her computer. She hacked the records from Peter's school. He got into fights, was suspended a couple of times, and, according to the security cameras, picked on Peter... a lot. She then hacked the security cameras from Flash's building. He was lying to his mother about why he had bruses on his back. Natasha turned the volume up.
"What are those bruses on your back?" She asked.
"It... it's from football practice." Flash said.
"Football practice?" His mother asked in a disbelieving tone.
"Yes, ma'am."
Natasha did a little more hacking from the school to find out Flash's mother's cell number. She hacked the phone and found Flash's number. After watching the security videos, he needed a little payback.
"PETER!" She shouted. "COME HERE!"
He came into the room and looked on her computer screen. About five different tabs were open. The one that was pulled up was from Flash's appartment.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Shh. Just watch." She said.
"Eugene Thompson. Stop lying to me this instant. What are those bruses from." His mother said on camera.
"I'm telling you, mom. Football practice was rough."
Natasha picked up her phone and dialed Flash's number. She held her mouth so she wouldn't laugh.
"This is a little payback." She whispered to Peter.
"What are you doing?" He asked again.
"Who is it?" Flash's mother asked when his phone rung.
"I don't know. I've never seen this number before."
"Don't lie to me. Answer the phone... And put it on speaker."
Flash picked his phone up and answered. "Hello?"
"Flash, it that you?" Natasha asked in the voice she used earlier.
"Who is this?" He asked.
"You know. We met at the library today." Natasha said. Peter caught on and was motioning for her to stop. She shushed him.
"Who are you?" He asked. His mother had her eyebrows raised.
"You really don't remember me? I had you begging earlier." She said.
"Stop, he's going to kill me." Peter mouthed.
"If he touches you, I'll end him." Natasha mouthed back.
"Eugene Thompson!" His mother shouted. She jerked his phone away. "This is his mother. If he ends up a father after this meeting, please meet me at the library. I will be there to meet you every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. for nine months. If you don't show up, that's fine." Then she hung up.
On the screen, she was yelling at him. "You're grounded until you graduate! I end up a grandmother at 37, you're grounded until you graduate college!"
Both Peter and Natasha were laughing at Flash's attempt to explain what actually happened to his mother.
"Thanks, Nat." He said, hugging her. "I gotta get back to Aunt May's."
"I'll take you home." She said."Momma Spider, you taking Baby Spider home?" Steve asked. Bucky was still asleep on his shoulder but now Tony was leaning against the armrest.
"Yeah." She said. Then they left.
She drove him in her expensive car. On the way there, they decided that she would drive him to school every morning and pick him up after school. They wanted to see the look on Flash's face when he saw them. They also decided it was time for Aunt May to meet Natasha."May, I'm home." Peter said when he walked in.
"Okay... who's your friend?" May asked.
"I'm Natasha." Natasha introduced herself.
"I'm sorry, how old are you exactly?" May asked.
"I work for Mr. Stark. I just gave Peter a ride home." Natasha said, putting a hand on Peter's shoulder.
"Thank you. I don't know how many times I've told him not to be out at night." May said.
"It's no problem. It's nice to meet you." Natasha said before leaving.
"She seems... nice." May said it like a question.
"She helps with stuff at school." Peter said.
"Oh, like fund raisers?" May asked.
"Yeah." Peter lied.
He went to his room and text Natasha.I accidently told may you helped with fund raiseres.
why would u do that?
she asked who u were & i panicked
At least we don't have to watch tony at fund raisers any more... that bake sale was a disaster
yeah lol. i gtg. see u n the morning
k.
In the morning, Natasha picked Peter up at the bus stop. When they got to school, Flash was getting out of a car that was almost as expensive as Natasha's. Both of the spiders smirked at the look on Flash's face when he saw Peter getting out of the car.
"I'll see you this afternoon." Natasha said, making sure Peter didn't forget his book.
"Bye, Nat." He said.
"Where did you score that?" Flash asked.
"What?" Peter asked.
"You don't have any money to... Oh, I see. I know what's going on. I know exactly what's going on." Flash said.
Peter was still confused. "What's going on?"
"You can't fool me." Flash said, looking at Peter's new, more expensive clothes (a birthday gift from Tony).
"Fool you how, Flash." Peter asked.
"Don't act so innocent." Flash sneered. "You show up with expensive clothes, in an expensive car, with an older woman."
Peter's eyes widened. "What the heck, man. The clothes were for my birthday... from my aunt. And the girl just works for Mr. Stark. He's making her chauffeur me around since I can't drive."
Both boys seemed to forget about Natasha. She never left the parking lot and was listening to their conversation. She was about ready to jump out of the car. Flash was making more comments about her. Peter was trying to ignore him.
"Flash, I'm going to be late to class." He said, stepping around the taller boy.
"I'm not done talking to you." Flash said, shoving Peter back.
Peter sighed. "After school, please?"
"Right here, right now." Flash said.
"During gym?"
"I said, right here, right now. Fight like a real man."
Peter sighed again. Flash threw a punch but Peter ducked. Natasha decided to not interfear just yet, she was Black Widow, a trained assiassian. Flash punched twice. Peter leaned away from the first, right into the second. He knew it was coming, Spidey Sence and all, but had to act like a regular person. He stepped back a couple of steps, bumping into Natasha's car. He tried to hit Flash, but his eye was swolen. Flash hit him again and his nose started to bleed. Natasha jumped out of the car, onto Flash's back and dropped him. She pushed him off of her, rolled him over, and sat on him.
"If you ever mess with my son again. I will end you." She hissed in his face. "Are? We? Clear?"
"Y-yes, ma'am." Flash said.
"Good." She replied standing up. "Tell Peter's teachers he won't be at school today. He got hurt saveing a girl from getting hit." She smiled her sickly sweet smile and walked away.
"N-Nat... where are we going?" Peter asked as she helped him up and got him into the car.
"Ice cream." She said. She cleaned up the blood, which was all over Peter's face, then she drove to the nearest Dairy Queen. They both got an ice cream cone. Then, she took him back to the Avenger's tower and made sure an ice pack was in his hand at all times. They made Steve and Tony and Bucky, who were still watching Steve's borring shows, leave. They watched TV all day and Nat made sure the black eye was as hidden as possible. When it was time for him to go home, she took him and explained to Aunt May what happened. Aunt May thanked her and told her she was welcome to dinner any time. When she got back to the tower, she changed Peter's name in her phone to 'Baby Spider'. Peter had changed her name to 'Momma Spider' right after they left school.
