Diego had the police radio sitting on the table behind him as he punched a punching bag. The radio came on and Diego stopped punching. He wiped the sweat off of his forehead and walked over to the radio, taking his boxing gloves off as he walked.
"We've got a 10-39 on the corner of third and main. A junkie." Diego's heart dropped. "Male." Maybe is isn't Klaus. "Aproximately 6 feet 0 inches." Please don't be Klaus. "Black curls."
The radio described a man that sounded exactly like Diego's brother. Diego grabbed a shirt off of a chair and ran out of the room. He got to the scene as soon as he could and pushed his way to the front. He couldn't see anything from where he was standing, so Diego lifted the tape and ran onto the scene. He knew it wasn't protocol, but he had to see if it was his brother.
"Diego," Patch said, putting her hands up. "Diego. It's not Klaus."
Diego let out a sigh of relief before leaving the scene. He didn't know where to find Klaus, so he went to the nearest rehab center. Klaus hadn't been there in awhile an no one knew where to find him. Diego reluctantly let it go.

The next time a junkie was found, Patch called him to tell him it wasn't Klaus, but Diego was already there. From then on, they agreed that Patch would call him as soon as she got to the scene. If it was Klaus, she wouldn't call him. Diego said that if she hadn't called in ten minutes, he was on his way.
One day, Patch couldn't get to a phone. Diego, true to his word, was there after waiting for ten minutes. He shoved his way through the crowed.
"Move!" He shouted at the people in front of him. "Move. That's my brother."
"No." Patch said when Diego reached the police tape.
     "What?" Diego asked.
     "It's not Klaus."
"You didn't call." Diego said slowly.
     "I couldn't get to a phone."
     "It... It's not Klaus?"
     "No."
Diego let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Since then, Patch always made sure she could get to a phone. She didn't care if she had to walk three blocks or use the police radio, Diego was going to know if it wasn't Klaus.
