Intern Denver's POV
"I have been working at Night Vale Community Radio for three months. Cecil has gotten possessed four times this month alone. 24 times in total. I've learned that sometimes you just have to smack him in the head. That usually works. If it doesn't, we'll call Carlos. If Carlos can't help or seeing/hearing Carlos doesn't work, we run." I told the new intern, Anna.
"How can you tell if he's possessed?" She asked.
"Usually, he won't talk about his personal life when he's possessed. Sometimes the thing that's possessing him will talk to us. One time, we didn't notice until the next day when he had a note pinned to his shirt saying that he was possessed."
"O-kay." She said. At this moment, she was probably regretting her choice to become an intern here.
"After the weather, I'll be in the booth. You'll be getting coffee and stuff. That's why I told you about him getting possessed." I told her.
Her eyes got wide and she nodded. Cecil announced that it was time for the weather. I walked into the booth, sat down, and put the headphones on. Anna walked nervously into the recording area.

Intern Anna's POV
"Do you n-need anything?" I asked.
"There's a giant snale in the bathroom and Khoshechk doesn't like it. Remember to put on the party hat or the snale won't be intimidated." Cecil told me.
I nodded and went to the supply closet. This wasn't my first time getting rid of a giant snale. My appartment gets infested every now and then. I got rid of the snale, pet Khoshechk, and returned to my desk.
"Hello, Night Vale." Cecil said. His eyes had rolled up and he was floating. "I'm here to take over. I'm giving you a warning because it's fun to see you get your hopes up with a rebellion before I kill you."
I looked at Denver. He nodded and I went into the recording area. Cecil's body turned to me, still floating.
"What do you want, child?" It asked.
"Y-You have something in your hair." I said, walking over.
"I have no use for mortal things such as hair." The thing said.
I was close enough that I reached up and smacked him in the head. Cecil fell back into his chair and opened his eyes.
"That is why you should always water your lamps." He said, apparently finishing the story he was telling. "Intern Anna, I don't remember asking for anything."
I looked at Denver, he shook his head. "You... had something in your hair." I told Cecil.
"Ah, anyway listeners I was talking to Carlos yesterday and..." I walked out of the recording area and went to sit with Denver.
He took his headphones off. "Good job, Rookie. If you don't die, you might be the next Voice of Night Vale."
"Thanks." I said, putting the second set of headphones on.
