Carlos liked his hair short. Cecil liked it long. Carlos usually kept it down to his shoulders. When it got any longer, it was a safety hazard (and got in his way). Carlos usually kept it in a ponytail. It kept it out of the way of experiments and from catching on fire... again. He always had a ponytail holder either around his wrist or in his lab coat pockets. Cecil had ponytail holders on his wrists too. He tended to play with them and snap them. Besides losing them, Cecil snapping them was the main reason they had to buy more every three months..
One day before getting a hair cut, Carlos hit one of the scientists with his ponytail after descovering that gravity sometimes stopped working at exactly 11:59 pm and resumed at exactly 12:01. He also hit Cecil in the face with his hair. Carlos turned around to hug him and ended up slapping Cecil. Cecil didn't mind, he liked Carlos's hair long.
