Bomber From The Past

"Come on, Rin!" The brats shouted at you, as they made their way towards the towering Ferris-wheel of the Haido Shopping Mall.

"Keep your pants on, I'm coming." You grumbled, as you heaved your bag onto your shoulders.

Conan stopped, and waited for you to catch up. "You don't look very happy about going up in that..." Conan muttered to you.

"It's not that, it just brings back memories." You replied, your eyes filled with melancholy.

"Good, or bad?"

"Both."

"What about?"

"One of the first people to show me kindness after I was orphaned." The corner of your lips tried to lift into a smile, but they were still weighed down.

Conan seemed startled by your statement. "You never mentioned that before. Who was it?"

"He was the person you took your job from~" You hummed, forcing a smirk onto your face.

"What job?" His eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"The job of lecturing me. Now, hurry up, or the brats will keep nagging." You called to him, as you ran ahead.

The six of you loaded climbed into the passenger car (I think that's what they are called). The brats were ecstatically staring out the window, but you weren't all that interested.

"Wow, we're so high!" Ayumi chirped happily.

"So cool!" Genta smiled.

"This big wheel is 125 meters tall, making it the largest in Japan." Mitsuhiko informed. "One turn takes 18 minutes!"

"A turning diameter of 125 meters, and a period of 18 minutes means we must be moving at 30 centimeters per second." Haibara responded.

"Don't you have anything better to think about?" Conan chuckled.

Haibara smiled. "What, like the electricity required to turn this wheel?"

"Never mind." Conan mumbled. He looked back over at you. "So, what about this wheel brought up old memories?" He asked.

"I suppose it's only smart to tell you." You sighed, making sure to keep your voice low enough that the brats wouldn't hear. "Three years ago, today, there was a bomb in the 72nd car. A really great officer was killed trying to find the location of the next bomb. That's why I'm so determined to keep those other dorks safe." You muttered, as you gazed out the window. "I owe it to him to find that bomber, and keep anyone else from dying."

"Is that the man you mentioned before?"

"Yep. He was one of the best bomb squad members around, and one hell of a detective." A smirk pulled up the corner of your lips. "He was the first person to figure out that I was Black Fox when I helped on another bombing case. He said arresting a little kid didn't sit well with him, so he'd keep my secret." You hummed.

When the passenger car finally reached the bottom, the brats led the way away from the Ferris wheel. You scanned through the crowd, and spotted her. The brats looked to see what you were staring at, and started to run towards her. "Detective Sato!" Ayumi shouted to the woman. Conan, Haibara, Dr. Agasa, and you followed after them at a much slower pace.

"Oh! I didn't expect to see all of you here!" She smiled at the brats.

"We wanted to ride the Ferris wheel!" Genta chirped.
