Enjoy the peace while you can. Things are going to heat up fast! Also, this one is going to be a long chapter since I don't want to break it into two parts, sorry about that. Also, remember the whole, I'm no biologist. I can only properly depict what I know or can find in research. The potentially false part of this one is that I don't know how many commands a dog can do at once, and I don't know how fast a dog recognizes commands. Hopefully it won't be too awful of an error on my part. Anyways, on with the story!

------------------------

Kogoro had blown it. That idiotic dunce had gone and accepted a case that paid 10 million yen (~90k U.S. Dollars), then turned around and went 8.057 million in debt through his gambling. He was now passed out drunk on the sofa, not bothering to solve the case he'd accepted.

"Does this idiot ever do anything productive?" You muttered under your breath. You glanced at Conan, who looked just as done as you. "So, who was Ran talking to?" You hummed curiously.

"Her mom." He replied simply, his chin resting on the palm of his hand.

"She's that big-shot attorney you mentioned before, right? She seems like a pretty cool lady."

"Don't be fooled..." Conan replied, as though haunted by past memories. "She's short tempered, and makes angry Ran look tame." He shuddered at the thought.

You chuckled. "I doubt she's that bad, you're just a mischievous child."

Conan didn't reply to your statement, because that's when there was a knock on the door. Ran hurried to answer it, to reveal a very attractive woman with her hair in a clean bun. She wore very professional business attire, and a pair of glasses similar in shape to Conan's. "That was fast!" Ran chirped. She seemed extremely happy to see her mother, despite the circumstances.

"I couldn't very well allow you to deal with this alone." She stated, her voice sharp and to the point. She glanced around the rather trashed Detective's Agency. When her eyes landed on you, she cocked her head. "And who might this be?"

"Oh, that's right, the two of you haven't officially met yet! Mom, this is Rin. She's been staying with us as long as Conan has. Rin, this is my mom, Eri." Ran made the introductions.

"It's nice to meet you, Rin." Eri smiled at you. Contrary to her prickly demeanor, she seemed rather nice.

"It's nice to meet you, too. I've been wanting to meet you for a long time now." You chirped childishly.

"Oh, and why is that?" Eri questioned.

"Anyone who can handle Kogoro enough to marry him seems like an outstanding person to me." You shrugged.

"Ah, that's right. I nearly forgot about this dumbass here." Eri glowered at the drunk and unconscious Kogoro. She seemed extremely irked, and might have strangled him if there weren't witnesses. "I'll help, but only for you." She emphasized to Ran.

-------------------------------

Conan and Ran went with Eri to attempt to finish what Kogoro had started, but you decided to pass. You had more important things to handle at the moment. You left the Detective Agency, and headed down the block. Stopping in front of a construction site, you glanced around to make sure nobody was watching, and ducked inside. The site was on hold due to the weather, so it was the perfect place to hide something. When you retrieved the hidden something, you headed towards Dr. Agasa's house.

You knocked on the door constantly, until it was pulled open by a rather annoyed girl. "Haibara!" You cheered happily.

"Where's Kudo?" She inquired, noticing that you were alone.
