Based on Episode 189-190
Hello everyone! As always, I'm terribly sorry for the infrequent updates! On that note, here's another chapter!
---------------------------
When you finally woke up from the anesthesia, you were very groggy. You were alone in your room, the only sound was the constant beeping of the heart monitor, and the soft drip of the IV. You brought a hand up to your head, and felt layers of cumbersome bandages.
You pulled off the blankets, and climbed out of the bed. To your surprise, you could finally stand, be it with a little dizziness. You yanked off all the cables and wires attached to you, leaving only the IV still attached. You held onto the IV stand, and used it to help move across the room, and out into the hall.
A nurse spotted you, and seemed startled. "You shouldn't be out of your room." She chastised.
"Where is Conan Edogawa?" You asked. "I need to see him." You looked the nurse in the eyes, trying to convey your sense of urgency. She finally succumbed, and led you down the hall. She stopped in front of one of the doors, and you were relieved to see the idiot's name on the door.
You pushed the door open, and entered the room. Kogoro was lecturing Conan, and Ran was asleep with her head on the edge of his bed. When Conan spotted you, he was startled. "Rin, what happened?" He asked, ignoring Kogoro's grumbling.
"It's nothing." You shrugged.
He looked at the bandages that circled your head with concern. "It doesn't look like nothing."
You glanced over at Ran and Kogoro. "Nothing of interest." You smirked.
He nodded, understanding what you were meaning. "I'm glad you are alright." He smiled at you.
"I'm surprised you didn't croak." You chuckled. In reality, you wanted to tackle the boy in a hug, but that probably wasn't a good idea.
---------------------------
It took several days before you got the chance to talk to him alone (Haibara wouldn't have been a problem, but everyone else kept hanging around). Ran let you put him in the wheelchair, and push him around the hospital on your own. You weren't sure, but she seemed to respect you more. She didn't treat you as though you were just an incompetent child anymore. You wheeled him as far away as you could from the others, before the two of you started talking.
"What happened when we split up in the cave?" He asked suddenly.
"What does it matter?" You mumbled in your bored tone.
"I remember hearing a scream before I passed out. Nobody will tell me what happened to the criminals either." Conan replied.
You mused about that for a moment. "Two of them are resting comfortably in a cell, and the other three are probably in a hospital somewhere."
Conan looked back at you. "What did you do to them?!" He whisper shouted.
"Nothing really." You shrugged.
"Then why are they in a hospital?"
"The first guy had a puncture wound through his hand, a broken index finger, a broken hand, a broken nose, and a major concussion. The second guy had a severed Achilles tendon, a major concussion, with a possible fractured skull. While the third guy has at least four broken ribs, a broken nose, major concussion, and possible brain damage." You rattled off innocently.
Conan looked startled. "There is no way the cops believe that was self defense." He mumbled.
"Have you forgotten who you are talking to? The cops don't suspect a thing. What person in their right mind would believe that a little kid did that to three grown men?" You chuckled.
