"Why did you bring me here!!!" You hissed at Conan.
"What, to school? You have to go." Conan replied. He wheeled you into the classroom, and pushed you to your desk.
"I don't have to do anything." You grumbled as you pulled the newspaper out of your book bag.
"Will you put that away!" Conan growled.
"What, am I not allowed to read the news anymore?"
"You're supposed to be a first grader."
"So?"
"First graders don't read the newspaper. "
You didn't answer. Two things in the paper had caught your eye, and one of them made you go pale. "Oi, Rin? What's wrong?" Conan asked.
"I have to go."
"Go where? Class is about to start."
You ignored the boy, and pulled yourself out of the wheelchair. Your leg groaned in protest, but it held firm. "What are you doing?" Conan shouted.
Still ignoring him, you headed towards the door. He barred the door. "Move."
"No. You don't need to be walking around. Your leg isn't fully healed yet."
"My leg is just fine."
"Then why are you still limping?!"
You glared at him, then smiled a cool smile. "You want me to prove it? Fine then." Without warning you turned and ran towards the open window.
"Don't do it!" Conan yelled after you.
You leapt out the open second floor window. Time to use my new toy~ You rolled to face the sky, and clicked a button on your belt. A hook shot out, and latched onto the windowsill. The automatic pulley system inside the belt slowed your fall, and a second click to the button applied the brakes. When you were on the ground, you pressed a button on your watch. The hook on the windowsill closed, and detached itself. The cord wound in automatically, leaving Conan completely speechless. You sprinted out of the schoolyard as the morning bell rang.
You ran a good distance before arriving at your destination. It was a dilapidated old apartment building, with construction equipment outside. You slipped past the construction workers, then bolted up the stairs. You threw open one of the apartment doors, and sighed. Everything was exactly as you had left it. You crossed your old apartment, and went to the broken nightstand. You opened the top drawer, and removed an object wrapped in a soft white handkerchief, and the necklace Kaito had given you. You slipped both objects into your pocket, and headed towards your next destination.
When you arrived at the old abandoned factory, you retrieved your gear, and stuffed it into your book bag. The fox mask was covered in dust, and smelled faintly of motor oil, but you smiled when your hand fell upon it. Almost ready. You thought to yourself. You pulled out one of the art pads you kept hidden with your gear, and began to write. It took you a few minutes to decide what to put, but as soon as you started writing, you couldn't help but grin. You gently folded up the note, and slid it into an envelope that you also kept with your gear.
You headed down the road, and caught a taxi. The taxi took you all the way to the middle of the city. You paid the driver, and climbed out. You went straight up the steps of the grand building, and entered through the revolving doors. You walked up to the front desk, and waited for the receptionist to address you.
"Hello there little one, do you need something?" The lady asked when she finally looked away from the computer.
"Um, somebody in a hood asked me to bring this to you. They said it was very urgent, and that the producer should look at it right away." You said in your best kid voice yet.
