She can't be one of the bad guys... You thought almost pleadingly. "She's typing in another number." Conan panted, as he continued running towards her apartment. Rain began to fall in sheets, lashing your faces as you ran.

You yanked your MP3 listening device out of your pocket, changed it to the frequency of Conan's bug, and jammed the earbuds into your ears. You could hear it, the faint beep of the cellphone. There was one more click right after the full number would be inputted, followed by a moment of silence.

"Hello... yeah, sorry. I had my phone off because something came up." Rena finally spoke. "Don't worry, It wasn't anything serious. I've already told him about it." Another moment of silence. "No problem. As I said, I can meet you at 10:00, Gin."

You felt your blood run cold. "No..."

"I'll call the Professor." Conan hissed. He pulled out his phone, and dialed the number.

"Doc, we've found the men in black!" Conan shouted into the phone. "Yeah, no mistake."

"Hold on, Judo. That sound..." You mumbled, listening intently through your earpiece. You could hear a churning sound, followed by a low purr. Your eyes widened. "She's in a car!" You called.

"She's moving." Conan let out a frustrated growl. "Doc, come and get us as soon as possible, but don't tell Haibara. We're in Haido City right now." Conan shouted over the pouring rain

"Tell him to grab the bag marked yellow under my table." You instructed.

Conan relayed your message to the Professor, before explaining the situation.

You pulled out your phone, and quickly dialed Ran's number. It rang twice before she picked up. "Ah, Rin, did you find your phone?" Ran asked hopefully.

"Yeah, Professor Agasa just called. He said he got tickets to Tropical Land from a friend, so he's gonna come pick us up." You told her, trying to keep the tension from your voice.

"You're going to Tropical Land with the Professor?"

"In this heavy rain?" You could hear Kogoro grumble in the background.

"Anyways, he's almost here. We'll call you when we're headed home!"

"Wai-" You hung up the phone, and slid it back into your pocket.

"We'll wait here for you, hurry." Conan stated, before hanging up his own phone. He finally came to a stop, his breathing heavy. "This is our chance to finally catch them." He looked towards you, his eyes filled with determination.

Is this really going to go so smoothly? You couldn't help but wonder.

-----------------------------

"He's here." Conan's words pulled you out of your thoughts. You looked up to see the classic yellow bug pull up to the curb.

"You take shotgun." You mumbled, before opening the back door. You stopped, a small smirk pulling up your lips. "You really are getting good at getting what you want when it comes to the Professor." You chuckled, before climbing into the back seat with Haibara.

"Didn't I say not to tell her?" Conan grumbled at Dr. Agasa.

"She has a right to be here." You interjected. "This affects her just as much as it does us, if not more."

"It isn't safe." Conan hissed.

"But it's not your choice to make." You snapped. "She's got her own score to settle here too, you know. Plus, if we screw this up, she's gonna have to face the consequences too." Conan lowered his head. What you said was true, but that didn't change his desire to protect everyone.
