"Conan, what are you doing?" Ayumi called, as she pushed open the door to the room.

"Shh. Keep it down." Conan whispered. "Rin's still sleeping."

"She's been asleep for a really long time." Mitsuhiko muttered, as he too entered the room.

"My parents always say you shouldn't sleep too long." Genta grumbled. "Let's wake her up!"

"Don't, she needs extra sleep." Conan stated, glowering at the much larger boy. Genta stopped, a confused look on his face. Conan glanced to his left to look at her. "She doesn't sleep well normally. We should let her get as much rest as we can."

"But we need her help." Ayumi mumbled sadly.

"We don't need her help, I can handle this." Conan replied. Worry flickered across his mind for a moment, and he shot a glance at her sleeping face. Good, still asleep. She'd hit me if she heard that.

"We came here to help Yuriko though!" Mitsuhiko protested.

"She told me to wake her up if anything happens, and that is what I plan to do. Until we find a clue, there is no point in bothering her." Conan stated, his tone ending the discussion. Realizing there wasn't anything for them to do in the silent bedroom, the three kids headed back out to rejoin Yuriko and Haibara in the dining room.

A small whimper escaped the sleeping girl's lips. The kids' commotion had caused her to stir from her restful sleep. Another whimper, this one accompanied by a pained expression on her face. Conan leaned over, and grabbed her hand. He gently rubbed circles on the back of her hand with his thumb. A few more whimpers escaped her lips, each weaker than the last. She fell silent, though the pained expression remained. He let go of her hand, before glancing at the door. Hesitantly, he stretched his hand out further, and began to stroke her hair. As though in slow motion, the pained expression began to fade, until finally her restful sleep returned.

Conan sighed, a soft smile pulling up the corner of his lips. This is how the past few hours had gone by. He'd been sitting on the edge of her bed mulling over the riddle, and soothing her each time she'd begun to have nightmares. He'd only seen her eat a few bites over the past week, and sleep even less. So, now, he felt the need to ensure a good night's rest for her. Conan tore his eyes away from her, and focused on the map he'd drawn of the grounds. Focus, there are only twelve hours left.

-----------------------------

You opened your bleary eyes, and let out comfortable sigh. The sun shone in the window, and your bedding was relatively undisturbed. You looked down to the rest of the room, and ran a hand through your tangled hair. As soon as your vision focused, you froze. Conan sat at the foot of the bed, staring out the window intently. He hadn't yet noticed that you were awake.

You remained silent for a minute, and simply studied him. The sunlight illuminated his face, making his dark blue eyes glow, and the lines of his face sharpen. The look of concentration on his face seemed hinged with worry.

Conan's eyes flickered over to you, and the look of worry was replaced with a smirk. "I was wondering how long you were going to sleep for." He chuckled, before fully turning to face you.

You forced yourself to look away from him. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner? We're on a time crunch here." You grumbled, silently praying he hadn't noticed you staring.

"You needed your rest. Besides, there's nothing we can do about the riddle right now." Conan stated.

You sat up, and rubbed the sleep out of your eyes. "I guess you're righ-" You stopped mid sentence. "Wait, does that mean you figured something  out?"
