You stared out at the rising sun, letting the light bathe you in its warmth. It was bitterly cold outside, but that's why you went out. If anyone knew you'd escaped to the roof, they would have been furious with you. It would only be worse if they saw what you were wearing. You were currently in your pajama shorts, and a tank top. The reason you were out there was quite simple. You wanted to feel alive.

Normally, when people think about that, they go skydiving, or do some sort of daredevil shenanigans. That wasn't the case for you though.Heart racing activities were a normal occurrence, so, for you, living was being able to slow down. The scent of the cold air in your nose, the chilly breeze tickling your skin, the warm sun caressing your face; those made you feel most alive. It was rare that you allowed yourself to be so relaxed in the open, but today was the exception. It was, after all, the mark of another year you'd been on this Earth.

You took a deep breath, before climbing down from the roof. You slid down the cable you'd hooked to the roof, and slipped in through Ran's and your bedroom window. Ran still slept peacefully, so you slipped out the door, and headed into the kitchen. To your surprise, you weren't the first one awake.

"What are you doing up?" You chirped, as you slouched against Conan's shoulder. He was washing the dishes that Kogoro had failed to wash the night before.

"I had some work to do." He stated simply.

"What kinda work?" You hummed.

"None of your business. Now, can you get off of me?" He grumbled.

"Somebody is grumpy." You muttered. You stopped leaning on him, and let him continue scrubbing the dishes. When he finished rinsing the last dish, he turned to you.

"Now, what do you want?" He gave you that 'you better not be planning anything' look that seemed so natural on his face.

"I'm bored, Judo!" You whinnied, putting on a dramatic and childish show of flailing your arms.

"Just hold on a little longer." He instructed. "Ran wanted to take us somewhere later, so you'll have to suck it up until then."

"How long will that be, and where are we going?"

"I dunno, whenever she wakes up you can ask her."

You groaned loudly, as you dragged your feet to the living room, and dropped face first onto the ground. You sat there for a while, your face pressed against the rough carpet. You heard Conan walk in behind you, but you didn't move. After a few minutes of waiting, he nudged you with his toe. "Noooo..." You moaned in protest.

"Get off the floor." He stated, nudging you in the back with his toe again.

"Neverrrrrr!" You grumbled, as you swatted blindly at the boy.

"Come on." He insisted, this time nudging you in the side. You recoiled away from his foot. "What was that?" He asked. You could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Nothing." You stated, covering your sides with your arms.

"Get up." This time, he poked the back of your head with his foot. "You're going to make someone trip." He poked your head again. "If you don't get up I'll tell Ran about the candy you have stashed under her bed."

You turned your head to face him. "You wouldn't dare."

"Are you willing to take that chance?" He smirked at you with that cocky grin of his.

"Stupid detective." You grumbled under your breath, as you pushed yourself up into a sitting position.

"Why are you so stir crazy today?" He asked, as he sat across from you.
