The next day, Conan woke you, and informed you that he was heading to Dr. Agasa's. When he asked if you wanted to come, you didn't hesitate to agree. You knew that no location was safe, but staying somewhere he'd so recently been caused fear to build in your chest. You got ready, and accompanied the boy to the old man's house. Upon arriving, it became apparent that it wasn't going to go well. Haibara was sick. Let me rephrase that, she was basically bed ridden. While Conan talked to Dr. Agasa, you went in to see Haibara. You made sure your mask was firmly in place, cocky smile and snarky eyes included, before walking into the room.
"Aren't you the one who keeps griping at me about staying healthy?" You snickered, as you approached her bedside.
The blankets were pulled up to her chin, and she had a cool cloth on her forehead. She glanced weakly in your direction. "What are you doing here?" She muttered.
"I'm here to help, and maybe get some work done if time allows it." You shrugged. You grabbed the washcloth from her forehead, and dipped it back into the ice cold water. Ringing the cloth out, you returned it to her forehead. "So, how are you feeling?" You hummed, as you took a seat on the stool by her bed.
"It's just a cold."
"So, shitty?" You smirked. She chuckled, but it turned into coughing. "Take it easy. Just rest." You instructed.
"What about you guys?" She spoke again.
"What about us?"
"Those guys who were following us yesterday..." She started.
"Worry not. We weren't followed, nor is anyone watching this place!" You put on a bright reassuring smile. "Besides, if anyone unsavory came along, this little guy would watch your back." You hummed, nodding towards the black and white dog that was sprawled at the foot of the bed. "Dogs can sense a lot of things that we can't, after all."
Before she could respond, Conan and Dr. Agasa joined you. "So," Conan began. "I tried to get a hold of Dr. Araide, but he doesn't seem to be in today."
"What about that place down by the shopping mall?" You suggested. You weren't keen on the idea of Araide coming into the house. "If I remember correctly, they are one of the few clinics open on Saturday."
"Then we'll go there." Dr. Agasa nodded. "I'll go grab Ai's coat." He stated, hurrying out of the room.
"Well then, you make sure she gets a good treatment, Judo~" You hummed, as you too turned to leave.
"Hold it! You're coming with us!" Conan protested.
"Not a chance. I'm not going to a crowded area." You snipped. You stepped closer to him so Haibara wouldn't be able to hear. "Especially after last night. I want to stay on my own turf where I have all my own weapons at my disposal. Besides, I'll have Lock watch for any intruders."
"Then I'll stay here with you." He replied.
"Are you really planning on leaving Haibara and Dr. Agasa to fend for themselves? She's sick, and, no offense, but Doc isn't exactly capable of protecting her. I promise I won't leave the house. I just want to do some tinkering."
His eyebrows furrowed worriedly, as he glanced between you and Haibara. You already knew what he would decide. You put up a strong argument. You had all sorts of weapons and tools in this house, whereas they were vulnerable. "Fine, but swear you won't step out of this house unless you absolutely have to."
"I swear."
"And you promise you'll call me if anything happens?" He continued.
"I promise!" You chuckled lightly.
