You were exhausted. It seemed like any time you left the apartment someone got murdered. You'd refused to leave ever since you'd returned from that disaster of a detectives gathering. You flicked through the TV channels, too lazy to actually pick anything. It was only when a certain annoying boy stepped between the TV and you that you noticed you were no longer alone.
"What's wrong?" Conan asked.
"I'm not sure what you expect me to say to that." You muttered.
"What's wrong with you? Why have you been so upset lately?" He persisted.
"Why does it matter?" You grumbled, as you tried to look past him to the TV.
"You've got everyone worried." The boy stated.
You let out a defeated sigh. "Every time I've gone out lately, there's been a murder. I dunno, maybe I'm cursed or something." You chuckled.
"Why don't you come out with me today?" Conan suggested. "I'm meeting Haibara and the others at the park."
"Pass." You mumbled. "Those brats get me into worse trouble."
"Come one," Conan continued. "Ran and Kogoro are both out, and I don't like the idea of leaving you here alone."
"Yeah, cause a squad of pint sized brats is going to stop a killer from getting to me." You grumbled in a sardonic tone.
"None of us may be able to stop something from happening, but at least someone will be there with you. I know how much you hate being alone, so I can't imagine why you still put yourself in those situations." The boy contended.
"Cause it's easier." You murmured low enough that you didn't think the boy could hear. "What exactly would I do at the park? I'm not exactly well versed in how to have fun." You countered.
Conan smiled, and, without warning, grabbed your hand. He pulled you to your feet, and dragged you to the door. He glanced back over his shoulder, a grin plastered on his face. "So, let's change that!"
You looked away from him, a blush beginning to rise on your cheeks. "Who said I wanted to, stupid." You muttered under your breath. However, you did nothing to resist, as the boy led you out the door, and down the street.

When you arrived at the park, the others were waiting by the fountain. Haibara looked up at you, her eyebrow quirked. "I didn't expect you to come." She said in her soft bored tone.
"I wasn't planning on it, but this idiot insisted." You sighed.
"So, what are we gonna play?!" Ayumi chirped.
"Oh, why don't we play hide and seek!" Genta suggested.
"Alright, then Genta's it!" Mitsuhiko chuckled, as he and Ayumi ran off. Haibara smiled, and began to walk off in her own direction, as Genta began counting.
You glanced at the boy beside you, and sighed. He had zoned out, thinking about whatever it was that went on in his head. "You planning on letting go of my arm any time soon?"
"What?" Your words brought him back to reality, and he seemed surprised that you were still beside him.
You pointed at your conjoined hands. "Can I have my hand back?" You restated.
A blush bloomed on his face, as he hurriedly let go of your hand. "S-sorry." He mumbled. "We should probably hide, Genta is going to finish counting soon." He added, before quickly turning away to go hide.
You shook your head, and scanned around for hiding places, before looking back at Genta. An idea popped into your head, and you couldn't help but grin. I suppose that would work. You thought to yourself, as you went and stood directly behind the boy. When Genta finished counting, and turned to look, you moved with him. The boy was much larger than you, so you had enough time to maneuver around him without needing to worry about him spotting you.
