I'm sure most of you have noticed that I go through writing spurts. Most authors hold on to the updates for later, but I can't bring myself to do that.... with that in mind you get 3 today 😂😂

"How much further is this place?" You grumbled, letting out a yawn to emphasize your boredom.

"How am I supposed to know?" Kogoro grumbled.

The four of you had been driving for some time. Kogoro had been invited to some mansion in the mountains, by someone calling themselves the Phantom Child That God Abandoned. They'd also enclosed a check for a sizable amount of money, so, of course, Kogoro decided to go. You glanced out the window at the dark forest that flew by. "This is so stupid." You groaned, not in the mood to be in the middle of nowhere.

"Hey, that's the place, right?" Conan called in his bumbling kid voice.

You glanced up, and saw a dark mansion in the distance. "That doesn't look creepy at all." You mumbled, you honestly just wanted to go home so you could give your pets their weekly treats, but you couldn't deny that the name on the letter had made you curious.

"Do we really have to go there..." Ran whispered nervously. "It looks scary."

"Don't worry Ran." You tried to comfort the girl. "Everything will be just fine!" You decided being your normal brooding self wasn't going to make the situation any better for the worried girl, so you assumed the role of the adorable little kid.

"For a place called Sunset Mansion, it looks like Dracula's Mansion." Kogoro grumbled.

"What if Dracula really is there?" Ran mumbled.

"Dracula wouldn't live here, if anything you'll find some sort of ogre." Kogoro stated, not helping the situation in the slightest. He rounded a curve, and immediately slammed on the brakes. In the middle of the road, an old lady stood holding an umbrella.

"Wow, great driving there, slick." You smirked, your ever present sarcasm leaking out.

Conan rolled down the window, and peaked his head out. "Is something wrong?" He called.

"As you can see, my cute little car's engine gave out." The woman gestured to a small car just past the bend of the curve. "I was waiting for someone to pass bye." She continued, walking up to Kogoro's window. "You're headed to the Sunset Mansion too, right? Would you mind giving me a ride?" She asked.

"Not really." Kogoro replied. "Hop in the back."

The old lady hopped in the back seat with Conan and you. You looked the old lady over, and chuckled. That boy really picked the wrong car to get in. You thought to yourself, as you stole a glance at Kogoro.

"Can we please hurry?" Ran pleaded. "I have to use the restroom."

Kogoro sighed. "Alright." He continued to drive

"Young lady? I know it's not my place to say this, but the principle of my elementary school always used to say to me people who do well always know when there is a chance. 'If you miss a chance once, then you may never get the same chance again' is what he would say. So, why didn't you do it when you stopped at the gasoline stand a while ago?" The elderly lady asked.

"Great, a random old lady is giving us life advice. I thought this trip couldn't get any better." You grumbled under your breath.

"What? How did you know that we went to the gasoline stand?" Conan mumbled curiously.
