Okay, I know this is a little bit late, but I was spending the weekend with my own mom, and that took priority! It was kinda mother's day AND her birthday, so I wasn't about to miss any time with her! Then I managed to throw out my shoulder... As an apology, it's gonna be REALLLLLY long, so get ready for a mixture of heartbreak and cuteness!

Sooo... The picture above is one I drew of (Y/N)'s mom. I did my best, but, it's a little bit scuffed, don't judge.

Anyways, I hope all of the mother's were given an amazing mother's day.

ON WITH THE SPECIAl!

"Rin, hurry up, or you won't get breakfast!" Ran called down the hall.

There was no reply.

Ran returned to the table, and continued eating her food. A minute later, Rin came out of her room, and joined them in the living room. Her body looked well rested, but something made her look... drained. She sat down at her place, and silently began to eat.

"Oh, I nearly forgot, Conan, your mom is coming to spend the day with you tomorrow." Ran informed Conan from a across the table.

"What for?" Conan mumbled.

"Don't tell me you forgot that tomorrow's Mother's day?!"

Rin went rigid. Conan's eyebrows scrunched together, as he looked at her over his rice bowl. Mothers day... right...

"I'll be going out with mom too."

"Chee, what about me?" Kogoro grumbled, realizing he wouldn't get fresh dinner.

"I'll make dinner for you and Rin before I leave." Ran stated.

Rin stood abruptly, nearly knocking over her plate. "I'm going to head to school early." She stated, before heading towards the door.

"I-I'll come with you!" Conan chirped. "A girl shouldn't walk alone."

"Well, if that's what you want to do, I'm not stopping you." Rin snapped, before throwing open the door, and heading out.

Conan hurried to grab his bag, slipped on his shoes, and hurried after her. By time he caught up with her, she'd made it to the end of the block. She didn't slow down her pace, even when he was struggling to catch up.

"Oi, are you alright?" Conan called, breathing a little heavy from the unexpected run.

"I'm fine."

Conan smirked. "It's going to take more than that to get me to drop it."

"Well, I'm not in the mood for talking right now, so buzz off." She snapped with far more venom in her tone than Conan expected.

With those delightful words, she picked up her pace, leaving him trailing behind.

Conan glanced across the classroom at her. Once again, she'd positioned herself as far from their group and the teacher as possible. Her chin rest on her arms, and she stared out the window, a heavy sadness seeming to weigh her down.

"Alright class, for the next thirty minutes, we're going to make something for Mother's day!" The teacher called. "I'm going to pass out a little picture book for all of you to fill out with all the things about your mom's!"

The kids all seemed enthusiastic as the teacher placed the small booklet on each of their desks. Rin, however, seemed to sag when the booklet was placed on her desk. She looked at it, but didn't move to touch it. The kids all scurried to grab their colored pencils and crayons, and set to work.
