I wake up at 5:30 in morning not able to go back to sleep so I go through my Instagram. I hear footsteps out in the hall and stick my phone under my pillow and pretend to be asleep.
"Jacklynn wake up you're going to school today." Brian walks in turning on the lights.
"What?" I say sitting up and putting on my ring "I thought you were gonna be my teacher."
"Let's see how school goes first, okay? If you don't like it you can be homeschooled. Here's your uniform."
"Uniform? I get to wear a uniform? I've always wanted to wear a uniform."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I know seems weird but I watched shows with people wearing uniforms and I loved it."
"Well get dressed come downstairs when your ready."
"Okay." I said as I got out of bed.
I put on my uniform and a matching headband. Fed Delilah grabbed a backpack stuffed a notebook, a pencil and my phone in and ran downstairs.
"Brian, I'm ready! Brian? BRIAN?!"
"Yes?"
"My god Bri can you stop coming out of nowhere?"
"Sorry, you ready to go?"
"Uhh yeah I guess."
"You're scared."
"Of course I am. Starting a new school ain't easy."
"Kind of like Leaving Home Ain't Easy."
"Oh good one." I giggle.
"What do you mean?"
"Uhh nothing."
"We gotta go. You don't want to be late."
"Right. Let's go."
The ride to school was quiet until Brian spoke up.
"Hey Jackie?"
"Hmm..."
"I got you something." Brian says taking a necklace out of his pocket.

"It's not just any necklace."
"It's not? What's it do? Can it make me invisible?"
"What? No... I don't know. It's a tracking device."
"It is? That's so cool." I say putting it on.
"It's a button too. But it's only for emergencies." Brian says as I nod. "We're here that's your school."
"Wow..." I breathed.
"Just go in the office and tell them who you are."
