Chapter 30

I was sitting at the table eating macaroni and cheese when I got thirsty.

"I'm thirsty."

"What do you want?" Anita asks. "Water?"

"Lemonade?"

"Do you want this instead?" Anita asks taking a box of cream soda out of the fridge.

"Cream soda I haven't had one of these in years." I say getting up going to get a cream soda.

"The way you said that" Brian says.

"What do you mean?"

"Say the whole thing again just like you said it the first time."

"Cream soda I haven't had one of these in years."

"Your accent is changing."

"It is?"

"Sounds more...British."

"YES FINALLY! I've always wanted a British accent." I say grabbing a cream soda. "Where did these come from anyways?"

"Your dad sent them." Brian replied.

"Of course he did." I said sitting back down at the table and finished my macaroni and cheese.

"Do you hear that?" Brian asks.

"Hear what?" I replied.

"It sounds like Killer Queen." Brian says.

"Oh that's my phone someone is calling me I'll be right back." I say running upstairs.

By the time I got to my room it had already stopped. I grabbed my phone and noticed I had a missed call from my dad. I head back downstairs and see Brian and Anita sitting on the couch in the living room. I sat down in the rocking chair and called my dad back.

Dad
Jacklynn
Dad: "Hello?"
Jacklynn: "Hi daddy."
Dad: "What are you doing?"
Jacklynn: "Nothing Why?"
Dad: "I had something for you but forgot to give it to you. I'll send it to you."
Jacklynn: "Okay... is that it?"
Dad: "Yeah... wait you sound different."
Jacklynn: "What do you mean?"
Dad: "You sound..."
Jacklynn: "Like a Brit?"
Dad: "Exactly."
Jacklynn: "I know right...I gotta go bye daddy."
Dad: Bye.

I hung up and noticed Anita and Brian staring at me.

"What...did I do something wrong?" I ask.

"Was that your dad?" Brian asks.

"Yeah." I replied.

"What did he say?"

"There was something he wanted to give me but he forgot about it."

"Did he tell you what it was?" Brian asks.

"No but he did say he was going to send it to me." I answered.

"I have a surprise for you." Brian says.

"What is it?" I ask.

"You have to wait."

"Okay that's...fine." I say scrolling through my instagram.

"You're gonna love it."

"I'm sure I will." I say getting out of instagram and going on Facebook.
