Part 15

Jay's POV*

When I wake up I go check on Ry and see he's still sleeping so I go make coffee and breakfast. I wake up Ryder and while he eat his breakfast I get ready then set Ry's cloths out for him to get ready. After we get ready I truly get why Hailey gets up so early because kids are not morning people. By the time we leave the house I already know I'm gonna be late so I text Voight that I'm going to late. When I get to the district after dropping off Ryder, Voight calls me into his office. "Where were you we have to officers missing and you're 20 minute late"! Voight says almost yelling. I remember back when Hailey, Ry, and I went out and she told me that  Voight Know about Ry. So I tell him " I really underestimated how long it take to get a toddler ready". and that when it hits him " Oh Ryder does he know"? says Voight. " No, I told him that she was staying out late" I say.

Kim's POV*

When I get up the next day I here the smaller guy coming so I wake up Hailey. When he walks in I tell him " hey we can still do this deal just let me call my brother" I say. After a bit of convincing he takes me out of the basement and we walk through the woods till we get a good signal. When we come to a stop I take the phone and call Adam. " Hello" he answers. " hey it's your sister we got a deal can you get the 20,000 from my Gym you know the combo right" I say. " Yeah so where are we going to met up" says Adam. " Lets met at the bar about half a mile from the convention" I say.

Hailey's POV*

While Kim was out, the taller guy came back in with a cup of water and when he was about to leave I asked him to redo my zip ties. While he was doing that I noticed the wedding ring. " So what are you gonna tell your wife about all this" I say. When I mention prison he gets all antsy and pulls a knife. When he cuts the ties I elbow him in the face then take off the ties on my feet. Then I punch him in the face until he grabs a wooden broad with a old nail in it and hits me with it leaving trail of blood when the nails hit my skin. After he hit, I fell to the ground and got punch in the face repeatedly until my eyes closed. 

When I woke back up Kim was there and said " what the hell Hailey what about waiting till the right moment" Kim says. "I found the right moment it just didn't go well" I says before I drift out of consciousness.

Jay's POV*

When were about to go to the meet I check my phone for the time and when I see it, I call Ryder's preschool saying that a Sargent Trudy Platt will be picking up him today. Then I call Platt to ask a favor." Hey Platt I have a big ask" I says while walking to my truck. " Yeah what do you want" She says annoyed. " Can you pick someone up for me" I say back. " yeah sure who is it", " His name is Ryder Upton he's three and goes to Windy City Preschool and thanks again bye" I says and hang up. Then I drive to the location but the deal goes south so we search the the woods where the crime techs got the ping from Kim's last call. When we get to the sit we fan out and I go with Kev search the north while Vanessa and Adam go search the east side.
