Part 49

Jay POV*

On the ride home I texted Annalise to let her know that her kids were asleep. When we got home I change Ry into Pajamas awhile Hailey changes into hers. I shut the door to Ry's room after I put him to bed then I walk to ours. "Hey Hails, you still up" I say getting in to the bed. "Yeah what's up" she says turning her head onto y chest. "oh I just want to say I love you before you went to bed and that I have to work tomorrow"  I say. "Aww I love you too babe , now sleep" she say falling back asleep. When I wake up I take a shower grab some coffee and head out. We got home late so I slept in kind-of late a little. I get to work just before eight and we already have a case. "Hey Jay no Hailey today" Adam say walk back to his desk from Kim's. "No she's at home with Ry until preschools open up next week." I say. "Well we've been doing paper work for the most part Voight said if we finish all of it then we can leave at 3, so get to work" He says. 

Hailey POV*

I wake up a little after 10 and walk into Ry's room to see that he is still sleeping. I then walk into the kitchen and look through the fridge and realize that me and Jay were supposed to go three days ago but got caught up in thanksgiving stuff that we just forgot. So I go get dressed and ready for the day. Then I wake up Ry to do the same. I put on mine and his shoe then walk out the door. We get to the store and I take Ry out his car seat and hold his hand as we walk into the store. to grab a buggy from the rack. I get the buggy with the child seat in it and I put Ry in the seat. The I start at the beginning, going  through every isle grabbing most of the essentials like milk, buttercream, butter, Bread, fruit, peanut butter, Nutella and juice boxes for Ry. Then after we get every thing we need I walk to the checkout line and wait. "Next up" the cashier says. I walk up and but my stuff onto the that thing that move the groceries up to the cashier. "did you find everything you need" the cashier says. "Yes" I tell him as he finish scanning my items. "Your total is $49.53 will it be cash or card" he asks. "Card" I say handing him my card.  "Have a nice day ma'am" he say as he waves down his next customer. 

When I get back in the car after loading everything into the trunk I call Jay. "hey Hails wassup" He say as soon as he answers. "I just went grocery shopping this kid called me ma'am" I say  as I start driving out of the parking lot. "What else do you want him to call you he probably didn't know your name" he says. "I know but he made me feel old. I'm not old right 32 isn't considered old is it. *gasp*. Do I look old Jay answer me" I say. " 32 is not old Hailey your very hot and no you don't look old" He says. "Okay thanks, love you bye" I say hanging up the phone.

Jay POV*

"Hailey thinks she's old because some kid at the store called her ma'am" I say leaning back in my chair. "She only 32" said Kevin. "That's what I told her but she hung up on me" I say. "Wait Hails is 32" said Adam. "Yeah because Vanessa is 31 and they are a year apart" Kim says. "Vanessa looks way younger than 31"Adam. "I'm not going to hit you bout that comment because Vanessa say she's fat and doesn't like when I compliment her out of pity" Kevin say. "Damn Adam you gonna compliment someone else girl but not your own" I say look straight at Kim who is staring angerly at Adam." You look pretty today Kim" he says. "Save it, you ass" Kim says turning back to her work. The rest of the day goes by pretty fast. When the clock hits 5, we all start getting ready to leave when Voight walks out of his office. "No please don't say we have a case" Kevin says. "There's no case just forgot to give you and Vanessa this gift for the baby" he says bring out the bag from behind his back . "What is it" Kevin says. " open it" Voight says. Kevin opens the bag and it's a police onesie with Atwater on the back. Then he open more of the bag to find some baby shoes, a stuffed elephant, pacifiers, and more white onesies. "Thanks Sarge Vanessa's gonna love this" he says. "No problem Kev, now go home be with your families" he say walking back into his office.
