The Secrets We Keep

Part 30

Vanessa POV*

Today is the day. I get ready like its any other day. Then I get in my car and drive to Hailey's place to pick her and Ry up. I get here, Hailey lets me in and tells me to sit on the couch until she can grab her stuff. We took Hailey's car because it had Ry's car seat in it. The whole ride there is quiet except for the music play on the radio. We get here I sign and just sit down next to this other very pregnant lady. Then I feel Ry climb onto my lap and talk with him mom. "Hey Vanessa are you listening to me" Hailey says. "no what'd you say" I reply. " I said how do you feel". "I feel like this isn't real" I say. before Hailey could say anything the nurse calls my name. I let Ry down and we walk to the room where the nurse takes my blood and some other things before the doctor comes in the room.

When the doctor get in she ask me question that I didn't really know the answer too. "Okay Vanessa can you lift up you shirt and lay down on the table" Dr. Vivek says. Then she put on this cold gel on my stomach and waves it around." Would you like to see the baby, you have a healthy baby for 10 and a half weeks" the doctor say. "O-okay" I say. "woah" is all I could get out before Ry started talking "baby" he says. "yeah that a baby you wanna see it" Hailey says while she pick you Ryder and points to the monitor. "How'd it get in Aunt Nessa tummy, did she eat it" he say confused. "Not today buddy" Hailey says as she sets Ryder back in the chair.  When the doctor leaves to grab pictures. " Hey how do you feel now that you know for sure" Hailey says. " I feel good, a little scared but good" I tell her. " Well It's almost lunch do you wanna grab lunch or just go home" Hailey say. " We can grab lunch and thanks for being here with me "I say. "Well here are pictures of your baby and don't forget to make another appointment and I'll see you in 4 to 6 weeks" the doctor says as she leaves the room to get another patient.

We head to Chick-fil-a and sit inside so Ry can play in the children's play area. "So when are you gonna tell Kev because once you hit 20 weeks there will be a bump and he'll figure it out" she say. "I'm going to tell him soon just don't know how" I say. " Just say Kevin I'm pregnant" she says. "Well that's one way" I say back causing Hailey to laugh. We eat the rest of our food before we go back to Hailey's house so I can get home in my car.
