Part 28

Hailey's POV*

"Yeah she is okay she had a minor heart attack but she will be okay. So what do you do Hailey?" Alex asks. " Oh um I'm a cop, What about you guys Estella told that one of you guy are a doctor or nurse." I say. " I'm a Nurse and my wife is a orthopedic surgeon" Alex say. " And um how about your son is how old is he our daughter Isabella is four and Raya is one and a half." say Alex. " Yeah Ryder is three." I say. " So where's Ryders father is he around, you know what just forget I said that." says Jess. " No it's fine" I say looking over at Ry and Raya talking in Estella room while Alex, Jess, and I talk outside. "His father died before he was born so it just me and Ry" I say. " Oh I'm sorry for your loss" she says back. I look over at Ry and see him putting the picture he drew on the bed. Then he walks back over to me and we say good bye.

We get bac to the car, I put Ry in his car seat and leave the hospital." Hey mommy" says Ry. "yes baby" I say,  "Can we get a dog, Raya said she has a dog" says Ry. " No buddy we don't have time for a dog" I say. When we get home I call Vanessa to thank her for the help yesterday. "Hello" a man and the other line says. " Kevin" I say hesitantly, then I hear someone curse under their breath. " Hey Vanessa it's for you, bye Hailey" said Kevin. " Hey Hails" said Vanessa. " How was your night" I say with a smirk. " Shut up what did you really call for" she says back. " I called to thank you for dropping Ry off yesterday Jay told me you tucked him in and stuff so thanks." I say. " Your welcome and see you on Monday" she says. " Bye V" I say before we hang up.

 After having the whole weekend to think and talk to Voight we decided that until Estella is ready to watch Ryder. He would go to preschool ,then go home take a bath. Then come back to work with me just till the shift ends. So on Sunday night came I packed  Ry cloth and bathroom stuff for the next day just in case the case goes till morning then packed his preschool backpack. Then after that I packed my bag.  It now Monday morning I shower get dressed then put on the coffee while I wake up Ry, get him dressed then I drink coffee while he eat his breakfast. Then we grabbed our bags and left, I dropped Ry off at preschool and he started crying so I was late to work by fifteen minutes. But when I got there everyone was gone. So I go down stairs to talk to Trudy. " hey Trudy where's the unit" I ask. " They went to a scene, but why are you late, your never late." she says. " Yeah well tell that to the three year-old I just pulled of my leg 30 minutes ago." I say. "  so when did he come in to your life" she says. " Ryder was born three years ago" I say.  

When The team gets back we set up the bored  for a smash and grab robbery. " hey Hailey you still go any at friends at robbery homicide who have any similar cases if so call them" Voight say before he walks in to his office and shuts the door. So I walk to the breakroom and call Villa my old partner. "Hello" she say. " Hey Villa it's Hailey" I say. wow it's been a while but what up, what do you need" she say. After we talk I walk back to my desk and start going trough the case files. About two hours later I look at the look " dammit" I say. I shoot up from my desk and head straight for Voight's office " hey Voight can I get Ryder" I say as I see hi give my a nod. So I grab my coat  and take the back exit  to my car where I speed through Chicago's traffic to get to his school. When I get there I see the twins, Their mom and Ry sitting down. " Hey Hailey, where's Estella?" said the twins mom, Zoe. "Oh Estella is in the hospital, heart attack, Thanks for sitting with him. Come on we gotta go" I say as I grab his bag and pick him up. " Bye Hailey maybe we get the kids together after school if you have to work late." she say. " That would be great but you already have two kids I don't want to add more to your plate, but maybe a play date. have a great rest of your day, bye Zaya and Zhuri, and I'll text you Zoe." I say as I walk out the door. 

 I drive back tot he house get Ry bathed and into some pajamas. Then we hop back into the car and we make it back just in time because Adam just found a lead, I walk Ry into the breakroom give him a snack, crayons, and a coloring book. Then I join the rest of the team as we walk through the now cleaned up version the security tapes then Kim runs it through facial rec. We got a hit Jake smith, white, mid thirty's, and live at 35 wakeboard drive. We get a search warrant.  Before we leave I tell Ry to be good for Trudy

when we get the house Kim and Jay get the back while Voight, Kevin and I take the front and Vanessa does surveillance. we take a few shot but none of them hit us the Kevin hits him in the leg. That when he drops the gun and Voight handcuffs him and Kevin ride with him to the hospital while Kim follow the ambulance.

On ride back to the district with jay and we make plans for a date that weekend so I text Zoe asking if she can watch Ry on Saturday and she she say yeah. We get back and it almost 6 pm. I call Trudy to ask if Ryder had some food she say no. " hey Jay can we make a stop at McDonald to get a happy meal for Ry" I say. We get back to the district around 6:30 and I Give Ry his food then give him the tablet and headphones so he can watch Bubble guppies. I walk out of the breakroom and everyone is staring at me. "Okay since no else is going to say it I will, where's our food" says Adam.  " If you guys want dinner you should asked" I say. Then I sit down and do some paper work. I finish all my paper work first at 8 pm. I take Ry to the bathroom we wash our hands then I put his jacket on, give him his backpack. We say good bye to the team and Trudy then head home.
