Part 47

Hailey POV*

We get to the car and I buckle in Ry while Jay puts in Gus' booster seat. There was kind of quiet other than Ry and Gus talking the whole time. "Well Amira and Gus how was your last day at school before the break?" Jay ask trying to start a conversation with them. "My day was good" Amira says. "My day was great our we had a cookie party and we had to say what we were thankful for" Gus say. "Oh that's nice what are you thankful for Gus" I say. "I'm thankful for Mami, Mira, you, Jay, and Ryder." Gus say. "aww were thankful for you and Amira too" Jay say. 

When we arrive at Voight's house around 5:40 I can  see that the team is already there. I help Gus out his seat while Jay gets Ry. We get to the door and I ring the bell. " Hey guy your right on time and you brought friends come in and you can put your coats over there" Voight say pointing to the coat rack. We walk into the living room where everyone was sitting and talking. "Hey guys, who are they?" Adam say before being smacked by Kim. "Sorry about him, what he meant to say was who did you bring with you." Kim say. " This is Amira and this is Auggie" I say. then I feel a tug on my sweater. "Oh yeah sorry his name is Gus" I say looking down at the curly haired boy.  Then I feel Gus take my hand as I walk towards the couch its on my lap. " So how did you meet Hailey" Kevin asks. Gus looks at me before answering. " Me and Mira met Hailey and Jay and  Ry at the dollar store, there was a robbery" he say. "Then they drove us to the hospital where Mami works and we watched movies on Jay's phone, eat muffins too" he says. " Do you guys want to play football outside while Voight finish's the turkey" Jay says. "yay" Gus and Ry say as Gus hops off my lap and runs to put on his coat.

"Amira you can sit if you want or you can go play football with the boys" I say. She sits down and plays with her necklace. "So Amira what grade are you in?" Vanessa asks. " seventh" Amira say. "What do you like to do when your out of school?" Kim asks. "I play soccer for my school, um what about you" she says. "Well I like to hangout in my apartment, watch Netflix and drink bee- adult drinks" Kim says. "Vanessa". "There's not much fun stuff I can do anymore because I'm pregnant but when I wasn't I'd go out for midnight milkshakes and watch the stars with my boyfriend." Vanessa says. 

"Come on ladies and gents lets eat." Voight says. When they boys come they all smell bad even the little ones. We all wash our hand before taking a seat at the big table. On one side of the table it's Voight at the head then Kevin, Vanessa, Amira, and Kim. At the other head was Adam and the my side was Gus across from Kevin and I was sitting next to him, Ry, and Jay. "Alright let say grace" Voight says as we take hands. "Dear Lord we thank you for this family and new friendships this year. We ask that you bless the hand that prepared this great meal, and thanks you Lord for Kevin's Mom and her Mac & Cheese  baked straight from heaven. Amen". "Alright lets eat, pass the mac& cheese please" Adam says.
