Part 48

Jay POV*

Thanksgiving was filled with some much laughter and fun Amira finally opened up about herself and talked about her favorite places to go around the city. Auggie, I mean Gus got tired of being a big kid and went back to being called Auggie. Ryder and Auggie tired themselves out from playing and they fell asleep as soon as their butts hit the couch. Now it almost 10pm and all three of the kids are asleep on the couch. Amira is sitting slanted with Ry's head laying on her lap on one side and on the other Auggie is snuggled up with one of Hanks blankets over his small body.  While Adam is telling the guys about some awesome movie he saw with Kim, I check my watch for the time, 10:20. "Okay well it's late and we still have to drop off those two, so Bye guys". I say walking inside the house from the porch where we were drinking beers. "Hey Hails we gotta get them home, it's late" I say. 

Hailey POV*

When all the kids are asleep me and the girls except for Vanessa drink wine. "Hails you want a refill" Kim says. "No Jay might get a little drunk and then I'm gonna have to drive" I say. " So Amira and Auggie are great, almost makes you wonder if you and Jay might want a kid together" Vanessa says. taking a sip of her water trying to pretend that it's wine. " I don't know Ry's birth was hard enough and adding a toddler with a baby is even harder. Maybe after we get married then we can talk" I say not really realizing what I just said. " You wanna marry Jay" Kim say. "I mean it's been almost 11 months of dating and we've already moved in together I would hope to marry him but it's to early for that step" I say before Jay walks in telling me that we have to get the kids home. "Well see you guys later" I say putting my wine glass in the sink and walking into the living room. Jay and I pick up the kids so that they can still sleep. I pick up Auggie while Jay gives Amira a piggy back ride and grabs Ry too. I put Auggie in his booster seat first then help Jay with Amira and Ry. We get in the car and I start driving. 

"I heard you talk about marriage with the girls" Jay say. "Sorry you weren't supposed to hear that yet" I say. "Yet, do you not want to get married" he asks. "I do want to marry you just not yet we've only been together for 11 month and yes 11 months is a long time but I don't want to rush what we have" I say. "Lots of couples get married after less months together and they last for a long time we could too" he says. "They do but we aren't them Jay you knw that I love you but marriage is a big decisions and it isn't something you rush into" I say trying not to yell. "shh" I hear come from the back of the car. 

The rest of the ride there was silent and when we got there, Jay picked up Amira and Ry while I picked up Auggie. Amira open the door and we walk in  and shut it behind us. All the kids are on the couch now and the only one partly awake is Amira. "Auggie come you need a bath" I say shaking him awake. When he wakes up he shows me the bathroom and I give him a bath because he is really tired. When I finish giving Aussie a bath I hand him off to Jay to help him put on his clothes. Then I knock on Amira's door and she lets me in. " Do you need help with anything" I say sitting down on the chair in her room. " can you French braid my hair" she asks. I say "yes" and I get up and walk the few steps to her bed and start braiding the one side. "How come you won't marry Jay, don't you love him" she ask yawning. " you heard" I say as she nods her head. "Well I love Jay a lot but he wants to just jump into to marriage" I say. "at least you found someone to marry. Look at my Mami and Papi they were in love and everything was great until he got sick but even when he went through treatment he was happy. What I'm saying is that life is to short to wait for the right time when the right time is now, well not right now but like tomorrow maybe" she says as I finish the second braid. "Your very wise for a twelve year-old" I say walking out of her room. "Hailey", "Yeah" I say. "Thanks for today it really took my mind off things, I had a great time with your friends tonight" Amira say. "I had a great time with you and Auggie today, too" I say giving her a hug before being Auggie's runs in and asks for his hair to be braided too. So I braid his hair too and then carry him to bed and tuck him in. Then I walk out of Auggie's room but not before turning on his night light. "Your really good with them" Jay says. "I understand if you wanna wait to get married" he adds. "I love you and I want to marry you but we have so much time ahead of us and I don't want to rush a great couple" I say. "Okay I can wait" he say as he picks up Ry and leave so Amira could shuts and locks the door.
