Part 62

Christmas morning

Jay POV*

Last night we put out milk and cookies for Santa then Hailey and I put Ry to bed. Then we put out all the Christmas presents we got him under the tree. You couldn't imagine how tired we were to wake up to Ry jumping on our bed a 8 am screaming Christmas, Christmas, Christmas.  I gets up first and takes Ry to his room to get the gift for Hailey I left in there and putting it in my pocket. When walk out of his room Hailey has already started a pot of coffee. "Thanks" I say as she hands me a cup of coffee before taking a seat on the couch with her cup. "Can I open them now" Ry says jumping up and down. "Let me get a picture first" Hailey says taking out her phone. "Okay now you can" I say.  "whoa" Ry says as he opens all the gifts we got him. "Thank you Mommy and daddy" Ry says. After Ry opened all his gift me and Hailey take turns opening our gifts. " I guess that's all" she says getting up. 

That's when I do it get down one knee and wait for her to turn around. " Do you guys want waffles or french toa-- " Hailey says as her whole body is frozen. "Hailey I've loved you since the day I met you and it took you getting hurt for me to realize that life is short and I know you said you wanted to wait to get married but technically this is an engagement which means that we can take time to plan our life together. You have always been there for me and I always want to be there for you and Ry, so Hailey Ann Upton, the love of my life will you marry me" say. "Mommy say yes" Ry says as she nods. "Is that a yes" I say getting up from the floor. "Yes, yes" she say with a big smile on her face. I place the ring on her ring finger and we kiss. " Can I have waffles please" Ry says breaking our kiss apart. "Yeah, baby"  Hailey say picking his up.

Christmas Dinner

Hailey POV*

 We get to the Dinner and everybody is already there. "Hey are we late" I say walking into Voight's house. "Is that a" Vanessa says holding up my left hand. "Yes" I say smiling as she pulls me into to a hug. "What's going on over there." Adam says as Jay and Ry walk over to them. "Jay proposed to Hailey" Vanessa says. " Ah congrats man" "Yeah happy for you" Adam and Kevin say. "Where's Kim" I say. "Here sisters" Adam says. " Someone told me that you and Kev got a puppy" I say. "Adam you told them" Kev says. "Blu is very cute you shouldn't keep him to yourselves" Adam says defending himself. 

Then my phone rings. It's Amira so I answer it, "Hey Amira" I say. "Hi Hailey" Amira says. "Are y'all at Mr. Voight's house" she says. "Yeah say hi to the team" I say moving my phone so she can see everyone. "What'd Jay get you for Christmas" she asks as I lift up my hand to show her the ring. "WHAT!" she screams. Then I hear some in the background say "Amira be quiet moms tired". "Is that Auggie" I say as she turns her phone to show me. "Hi Hailey look what I got" he says showing he his new shoes. "those look so cool bud" I say. "What did you get" I ask Amira. " I got the usual pant, shirts, more hoodies, and dark green phone case. And these soccer jerseys thanks by the way, and a new  soccer backpack, there's a spot for my cleats so I don't have to carry them around anymore and there's room for a soccer ball you got me." she says. "Dinner" I hear Annalise says for the other end. " I got go but thank you for the gifts" "Thank you for the baseball glove" Auggie and Amira say before hanging up to eat. "She seems happy" Jay says. "yeah considering what happened" I say. "What happened" Adam asks. " Her dad died 10 days before her birthday last year. I hear by phone buzz again this time it's Kim. "Look whos calling" I say showing them who's calling. "Hey Ki-" "Were you not going to tell me that you got engaged" she says. "Vanessa had to tell and not you, what happened Hailey I thought we were friends" she says." I was going to call but Amira called we talked for a while." I say. " I really wish I could be there with you guys right now" Kim says. "Yeah me too we miss you especially Adam, V told me that he spent Christmas eve and Christmas morning with them also Kev got V a dog, Blu" I say. "Vanessa sent me a picture Blu is super cute can't wait to meet him when I get back. And Vanessa sent me a picture of Kev, Adam, and Blu passed out next to the half built dresser." Kim says laughing. " That's Voight dinners ready talk soon though, bye" I say hanging up and going to eat with the team.
