Vanessa POV*

April 4th 8:55pm

I wake up to pain in my back, I hold on to the railing as the contraction hits. "Your awake I see" the nurse says. I look around the room but I can't find Kev. "If your looking for your husband then he went to see your daughter in the daycare, I can get him for you and the doctor" she says. "Thank you" I say as she walk out.  A minute later I hear the door open, it the doctor she came to check me. "Your at 10cm I'm going to get a nurse to set up and you'll have two beautiful babies by tonight" she says walking out to get a nurse. When she comes back the nurses bring in everything they need for the birth of twins. "Okay Vanessa you ready to meet your twins" the Doc says lifting the end of the sheet up.

"Did the nurse find Kevin yet" I say as one of the nurses take my hand. "Not yet but she is looking for him" she promises. When the next contraction hits I squeeze the nurses hand and sit up to push. I fall back against the bed and take deep breaths when the door is flung open. "Did I miss it" Kevin says walking over to my bedside. "Where the hell were you" I say panting as a Kev and the nurse on my left, holding my hand switch places. "the vending machines" he says wiping sweat from my face with his shirt.

I was about to say something when the Dr. Brown interrupts me. "almost there after the heads out you go one more" she says as I pant heavily. "I can't it's going to rip me" I say feeling Kev wipe my forehead with a cold cloth. "I need you to push on the next one or I'll have no choice to do another C-section" she says, as I push as hard as I can. "Your almost there just a one more and the heads out" she says."It's a boy" she says over the baby's cries. Kev cuts the cord as I'm catching my breath. "Oh my god, I'm done, no more kids" I say breathing deeply as tears fall from my face. "Okay" Kev say taking my hand again.

"You ready to go again" the nurse on the other side says. "No, it hurts" I say shaking my head. "I know it hurts but you have to push Vanessa" the doctor says. "I sit back up and push."I need you to stop pushing. The baby's head is compromised, I need you to push with all your strength" she says. "Okay" I say panting. "Your baby's head is to big for you and your going to tear, doing the episiotomy will increase the baby's chances" she says. "Not going to lie this will hurt"she says. I look up at Kev and he looks back down at me with fear in his eyes. I let out a painful scream as she cuts through me, feeling the pain all at once."Oh my god" I hear Kevin say as she still cutting me. "Why are you saying oh my god, what happened" I scream at him. "It's just so much blood and it's so gross" he says looking pale. "I need you to push on the next one and it's all over" the Doctor says. I hunch over squeezing Kev's hand using all my strength to push the next baby out. "And it's... another boy" she says. I don't know why but in that moment I start crying. Kevin moves the sweaty hair back and kisses my head. I look down at the doctor but she doesn't look up. "What wrong? Is something wrong" I ask. "Vanessa I'm so sorry-" the doctor starts. "No, no, no, no" I cry. "The baby was stillborn" she says.

When baby A is cleaned up the nurse places him
in my arms . "You did so good, babe. I love you" he say kissing my head. Then the doctor leaves us the birth certificate to fill out. "He's gone!" I cry. "I know I'm so sorry" Kev says I feel his tears soak my hair. "I can't believe you almost fainted while I was giving birth" I says stroking the baby's cheek. "You should've seen all the mucus-blood you lost" he say. "You try pushing two bowling balls out your ass without ripping from hole to hole" I say. "No I'm good" he says flashing a smirk at me. "Yeah. That's what I thought" I say.

"We forgot about names" I say caressing my firstborn's cheek. "You forgot names but you know what I want to name one of them" he says. "We can use your name as the middle name, okay" I say. "how about Skylar Judah Kevin Atwater and we can call him Sky" he says. "I love it very cute and biblical" I say. "And Taelyn Wiley Atwater" I add. "Yes" I hear Kev say under his breath. I take off the pen cap and write Taelyn Wiley Atwater for the first boy and Skylar Judah James Atwater for the second boy. "We have three kids now Val, Tae, and Sky-" Kev starts. "Like I said. No more" I say as the nurse comes to take them to the NICU. "I just wanted a boy but now we have two, so I'm good" he says sitting down on the bed holding me as I warp my arms around him.

The next day I wake up at 9am to the smell of breakfast. "hey beautiful got your favorite" he says pushing the bag closer to me. "I'm not hungry" I say pushing the bag back. "Babe you have to eat something" he says. We eat and talk until we finish. Then there's a knock at the door. I say "come in" as two nurses walk in with the twins. "Were hear for bath time" one says walking over to the bathing area of the room. Kev helps me out of bed as we walk over to the nurses. She helps me clean both babies and Kev put's there clothes on. We dress them in a cute twin onesie with white socks and black converse.

Kim POV*

I get to the district and everybody's there except Kev. "Has anyone seen Kev today" I say walking back from the breakroom with my coffee. "I texted V yesterday said Kev was taking them out on a family day before the baby's born, she not answering her phone" Hailey says. "I'll ping his phone" Adam says. "They're at home, maybe they over slept" says showing the ping to the team. "What's going on" Voight says standing in the doorway of his office. "We were ping Kev and Vanessa's phone" Adam says. "Let's go check it out" he says going back to grab his gun.

We get to Kev and Vanessa's house and see that Kev's car is gone, but Vanessa's car is still here. "The car's cold" Jay says taking his hand off the hood of Vanessa's car. I walk up the steps and try to open the door but it's locked. "Hey, hey, hey what are you doing" I say stopping Adam from kicking in the door. "I  was gonna kick it in" he says letting down his leg. "I have a key" I say going through the key on my keychain and finding the right one. "You have a key?"Adam says. "Yeah he's my best friend" I say still looking for the right one. "I thought I was your best friend" he says. "Hey wait, I just talked to Will one of the nurses from last shift said a pregnant women came in yesterday matching Vanessa description" Jay says. We get back in our cars and head to MED.

Kevin POV*

I'm changing Tae's diaper in the corner of the room when we hear a knock at the door "Nurse" I look down at the before quickly and gently "come in" trying not to wake up Vanessa. I look back and it's the team walking in. "You have some visitors" the nurse says."How's mom?" She whispers finishing up swaddling Tae. "She's hanging in there" I say looking at Vanessa sleep as I wipe my tears. And you, how are you feeling?"She asks laying the baby in my arms."I'm okay, just worried about her" I say holding the pacifier to the baby's mouth. "Do you mind staying with her for a little bit" I say "yeah I'll stay with her you go talk to those visitor" she say sitting in the chair next to the bed. "Thanks I say open the door and shutting it quietly. I walk down the hallway to the waiting room. "Hey guys" I say plastering a fake smile on my face. "We were worried about you- wait is this, Vanessa had the babies" Kim says hugging me. "Yeah" I say as I hug everyone. "Meet Taelyn Wiley Atwater" I say. "Where's Baby B, is he in the Nicu" Jay asks as a tear slips out. "No" I hear Kim whisper as I nod. "Baby B was stillborn, there was nothing they could do" I say wiping my tears. "Kev I'm so sorry" Adam say. "Thanks" I say. "How's Vanessa doing?" Hailey asks. "She's finally asleep, so nows not a good time for visitors. We're still um... we're still greiv-" I start trying to stop the tears from falling. "We get it. Anything we can do" Adam say laying a hand on my shoulder. "Valentina she's in the nursery her if I pick her up can you take her just for the night" I say. "Yeah we got her" Kim says. "Thank you" I whisper. "I should get back to Vanessa now, but I'll be back out" I say before walking back to the room.

hey can you hand me a pacifier" I asks as Taelyn is starting to fuss. He snap the buttons on the onesie and pick up Sky. "Here switch" he say as he hands me Sky and he takes Tae from my arms. "They're boys" Hailey says what everyone else is thinking. "Yes and they're identical twins, boys"  I say. "What are their names" Jay says. "At 9:40 pm Taelyn Wiley Kevin Atwater was born and at 9:42 we got Skylar Judah James Atwater" I say. "Hey, Kim can you hold him" Kev says as Kim goes to wash her hand. "I'm going to get our other kid" Kev says handing Tae to Kim and Kissing my head before walking out to get Val.

When he comes back Hailey is holding Sky, Jay's holding Taelyn. "Hi baby" I say as Kevin lift her up on to the bed. "Sister" she says. "your don't have a sister you have a brothers" I say as she makes her I'm about to cry face. "Kev" I say. "I got it" he says picking her up and carrying her out the room. "What was that?" Adam asks as you can clearly hear someone crying outside. "When she's going to cry she makes a face, that was the face" I say. When Kev walks back i you could see that Val had cried for a good 10 minutes. "Hi baby you ready to meet you baby brothers" I say as Kev sets her down on the bed. I slowly lay Tae across her while holding Sky with my other arm. Then Kev and the team get lots of pictures of Val and the boys."Kev get over there with your family" Adam says holding up his phone. Kev hand him my phone and takes pictures of our family of 5.
