Hailey POV*
It's been a whole month since Rue was born and finally fell into a decent routine. On week days I take they boys to school while Jay goes to work until 5. It's Monday morning when I wake up to a loud cry. I run to Rue's room trying to bounce her back to sleep. I take her downstairs so she won't wake up anyone else. " oh baby what wrong" I say hold her close to my chest let her feel my warm skin. I notice that she feels kind of warm so I move her to on arm while I grab the thermometer from the cabinet. The thermometer reads 101.2. " You have a fever, bubba" I say putting the thermometer back and taking out a bottle.
After giving her the bottle, she throws up on me. "shit" I say before she starts crying again. I shift her to the dry side of my shirt and take her back to our room. " Jay,Jay wake up" I say. " Hails -" he says before I cut him off by saying. " she threw up on me and herself 4 minutes again I need you to hold her while I get her clothes" I say as he gets out of bed. I walk down the short hallway to her room and grab her new little sister onesie and a clean diaper. I walk back in and she still crying. " hey what happened in here I wasn't gone that long". " she threw up on me Hails, it's s down my shirt, why is it so warm? " he says freaking out. All I can do is laugh I know Jays seen how Ry gets when he's sick but he's never acted like this. " why are you laughing our daughter is sick" he says gagging at the smell of vomit. I compose myself and tell Jay to run a warm bath for her.
The bath really help calm her down because we gave her another bottle and she went right to sleep. "Hey I'm going to shower" I tell Jay before walking into the bathroom. "Hey wait. You.. want some company" he say pressing his strong hands to my hips stopping me from walking in alone. " yeah" I whisper in his ear. We're half way through the shower when we here a knock on the bedroom door. " Hailey, Jay" a little voice says. " I got it" Jay says getting out the shower. " you sure because I can-". "Hailey finish up in the shower.... and I had fun" he say exiting the bathroom.
I get out the shower and get dressed. I open the bathroom door and no ones there. I put my hair up in a messy bun, grab the baby monitor and walk around the house. " Jay" I whisper. " Hails" he says making me jump. " sorry, down here" he says sitting on the floor across from the boys bathroom. " Is Auggie" I say. " he said his stomach and head hurt,
I gave him Motrin just wait for him to get out the shower." He say helping me sit on the floor. I rest my head on Jay chest and close my eyes as he raps his arms around me.
Jay POV*
When Auggie gets out the shower I try to stand up. But realize that Hailey fell asleep. " hey bud can you wait for a second" I say patting the floor for him to sit because his sheets aren't clean after wetting the bed with sweat. When he sits down I take Hailey in my arms just like our wedding day and walk her to our bed. I walk back out to the hall way and see Auggie asleep on the floor. I pick him up and walk him to our bed and put him next to Hailey. I grab my phone and shot a quick text to Voight.
"Hey boss Rowan and Auggie are sick I'm gonna stay home today sorry"- Jay
I guess Voight was up early because he responded pretty quick.
No it's okay Jay be with your family take the next few day don't want you bring that here -Voight
I check on Ro one last time before heading to bed with Hailey and Auggie.
The next time I wake up to my 6 am work alarm going off. I take my phone and hit the stop button. "your not going to work today" Hailey says. "Jesus Hails I thought you were asleep." I say. "I was until I felt a tiny body next to me instead of yours."She says moving Auggie's curly hair from his face and kissing his cheek. "I called in sick thought you could use some help with the kids today" I say. "Thanks babe" she say kissing my hand as I fall back asleep.
Hailey POV*
I let Jay fall back asleep and I get up to wake up Amira for school . Open the door to her room and she not there. I turn around and the bathroom light is on. I open the door and she's kneeling on the floor, head over he toilet, throwing up. Rush to her side moving her hair behind her as she continues to vomit I take the hair tie out of my hair and use it to tie her hair back. Once she's done I flush to toilet and have her sit on the edge of the bathtub. " I'm sorry Hailey" she says crying as I wipe her mouth with a clean wash cloth. "No, your okay it's not your fault okay. Auggie and Rue are sick so your not the only one okay. Why don't you shower and change then you can sleep in our bed "I says putting her hair in a higher bun. " okay" she says with a raspy voice. I leave the room and walk to our bedroom to wake up Jay. "Jay get up" I say shaking him. "yeah what's up" he whispers. "Move Auggie. Loser to your side" I say. "What happened is everything okay" he say pulling Auggie close to him. "Amira's sick I think they all have the flu" I say.
A Few minutes later Amira walks in a crawls up in between Auggie and me. "Hey Hailey" she says slowly fitting back to sleep. "Yeah" I whisper. "Your a great mom" she say making me smile before I fall asleep again.
After 3 hours of sleep I wake up to feed Rowan, I walk to Jays side to grab my slippers and see Ryder asleep on top of Jays bare chest. I get a picture of all the kids in our bed, capturing the sweet moment before walking to Ro's room. I bring her downstairs and put her in the bassinet, while I get her bottle. I check her temperature and it's still the same. Sit down on the couch to feed her.
Jay POV*
I wake up again at 11:30 and Ryder is sleeping on me. I carefully place him next to Amira. I walk downstairs as Hailey is asleep feeding the baby. I laugh a little at little RoRo just staring at Hailey but still drinking from the bottle. I take Rowan from Haileys arms, finish feed and burping her before I put her back in the bassinet. Then I take out a pan to make French toast for the kids. I take out the bread, eggs, and the rest of the supplies to make this dish. I am almost done when I see the boys walk in. "Hi daddy" Ryder say hugging my leg. "Hey boys go wash your hands the foods almost ready" I say as the rush down to the sink in the kitchen. About thirty minutes later I hear bigger for step and see Amira walk into the kitchen. "Hey I'm I loving the bedhead you got over there" I say laughing. She playfully roles her eyes and walk to get a plate. After eating breakfast I clean up the kitchen and email all their schools letting them know that they'll be out for the next few days. Then I join the kids on the couch watching a movie.
Hailey POV*
I wake up to the beginning of a movie. "Your awake"Jay says. " Yeah what movie are we watching." I ask get off the couch to get Rowan from her bassinet. "Aladdin" all three kids say. "Hi bubba" I say in a soft voice. I reach into the cabinet for the thermometer and it reads, 99.8. "Ro's fever starting to break" I say from the kitchen. I walk back to the couch with her and we watch a Aladdin together. Laughing at the funny parts and dancing when the songs come on. Overall we had a fun couple days at home, together.
