Hailey's POV*
During those past two days with Vanessa I've never felt so unafraid and so loved that she would spend her sick days with me. After Vanessa went back to work I had a lot of time to be kid free so I cleaned did housework like one of those housewives.
It's the day, I can finally go back to work. I get dressed and get Ryder Dressed the we go to work and preschool. When we walk down to the ground level in my building I see Jay standing outside his truck. That's when Ryder lets go of my hand runs right into Jays arms. " Hi, buddy I'm taking you and mom to work". I then walk to my car to grab Ryder's car seat and I places it in the back while Jay hold Ry's hand. We get in drop off Ry and then head to work.
When we get to work the bullpen is dark and quiet then out of nowhere everyone get up and yells surprise even thought I hate being surprised. When they yell surprise I saw Adam pop out in front of me and that when I straight up punch him in the face. And it must have hurt badly because before he went to the locker room I saw a tear escape the corner of his eye. " Sorry Adam" I say as he walks to the locker room. Then everyone stays quiet for a couple second until Kevin walk up gives me his famous hugs and say " Well I glad your back, but Adam I don't". And we all laughed at that. Then Adam walks back with a bag of ice on his face and I apologize again.
Anyway the day was slow no cases no CI runs. So Voight let us go home early and by early I mean the actual time were supposed to get off. When everyone leave its just me and Jay and Voight but he practically live here so, me and Jay grab our stuff and walk to his car and pick up Ry. When we get to my place I cook so chicken alfredo and when we finish Jay cleans up while I give Ry a bath . Then when it's time for bed I grab a book and snuggle up next to Ry and read too him. When Ryder falls asleep I give him a kiss and start walking toward the door when I see Jay staring at me. When I shut Ry's door Jay pulls me close and kisses me deeply. " What was that for " I say. " Just because your a great mom and I love you" he say and reply with " aww I love you too". Then we snuggle on the couch for a bit until I look at the clock and sees that it's late. I wake up Jay then kiss him goodbye and watch him walk towards the elevator then his car from the window.
