Part 52

Hailey POV*

Jay and I drive to work after dropping Ry off at preschool. We walk in and up to the bull pen. "O my god your back" Kim says giving me a bug hug. "I was only  gone a few days" I say. walking to my desk. " It feels good to be back" I say look around. " You okay Kev" I say watching him hold his neck. "No Vanessa made me sleep on the couch because someone told her that she like the middle name I wanted. And now she's making us pick out new ones" he says look directly at Kim." I didn't know that I was never supposed to know" said Kim. "So sorry but what were they?" I ask. "They were Storiee and Julianna for a girl and James for a boy." Kim says as Kevin gives stern her a look. " What it's not like your going to use the names anymore" Kim says. "Those were cute names why doesn't Vanessa want them" I say. " She was yelling to me about how she wants her or her name to be a surprise to you guys" he says.

Kim POV*

It's around lunch when my my CI calls for about information on a meth house up in the fancy neighbor hood. "Hey I got a CI run anyone wanna come with" I say. " Me" I hear Hailey say getting up and putting on my coat as we walk down to the car. "I really needed this, I was in my apartment for a week with a toddler." Hailey says as I give her a weird look. "Don't get me wrong I love Ry but there only some any things you can do with a 3 year old before he doesn't what to spend time with you anymore. I sorry I've just been talking about my life how yours how are you and Adam." she say. " Me and Adam have been great we're taking things very slow so we don't mess things up. We've been going on date and yeah just great". "She says with hesitation" Hailey say. "I know but It's just been really really slow and plus his sister is looking for a new place so she's staying with Adam and I can't go over to his place because her son is there and I'm not going to traumatize a child with noises" I says as a laugh slips Hailey's lips. "Oh grow up" I say which only makes her laugh louder.

We get back from the CI run and it was just a junkie looking for his cut. We get up stairs and it's everybody's packing up. " Hey what's going on" I say. "Voight's letting us go home at 5 and that's in ten minutes" Kevin says. "Hey where's Jay?" Hailey asks. "Oh he left at like 3, said something about Ry and preschool" Adam says not looking up from his work. "Shit, I forgot about him" Hailey says under her breath. "You forgot about that sweet little boy" I say teasing Hailey as she says. "It's hard staying a home with a three year old there just so needy". 

" What are you guys doing after shift" I say trying to start a conversation. " Well I going to take V out for cheese burger's, milkshakes, and stars. " Kev says. "Aww that's sweet" I say before he say bye to all of us and walks down the stairs. "What about you Hails" I ask. "nothing fun just going to teach Jay how to bath a toddler without getting soap in his eyes, you" she says. "I don't know yet might get Chinese food and watch a movie" I say grabbing my stuff as I wait for Adam to finish grabbing his things from the lockeroom. "Bye" Hailey says as she walks down stairs to catch up with Kevin. "Hey so I told my Sister that I was going to pull an all-nighter at the district so now I can spend time with you if it's okay" He say walking toward the car. " It's perfect" I say kissing him before he opens my door to get into the car.
