Part 77

Hailey POV*

"You going to be alright" Jay asks as we walk the stairs to Adams house. "Yeah I'll just tell them I'm not feeling well and drink water" I say ringing the door bell. "Hey your here, come in" Adam says as we walk in. "The food smells good" I say as we walk out to the back where everyone is. "Hey guys" they say as Ryder lets go of my hand and runs to hug everyone. "You start drinking without me" I say walking over to Kim and Vanessa noticing the drinks in their hands. "yeah sorry" Vanessa says thanking another sip. "You ready to go" I say. "Yeah just let me say bye first" Vanessa says walking over to Kevin whos holding Val. It's been 20 minutes and Vanessa is still hugging Val. Kim walk over and pick up Val from her and hand her back to Kev. "What the hell Kim?" she says. "You need a night out and so do I" she says taking her hand and walk to the door. "were gonna be fine Vanessa have fun, we love you" Kev says waving Val's hand bye.

We get to the bar and order drinks. "Hailey You want a beer" Kim asks thanking our drink orders. "I'll take a water, thanks" I say. "a water". "Someone has to drive your two drunk asses home tonight" I say. "Fair enough" Kim says walking to the bar.  She comes back with the beers and two shots for Vanessa and her. "Your really missing out Hail" Kim says downing the drink and take a sip of the beer. "You two won't be missing that hangover tomorrow I say laughing almost spilling the water in my mouth. "I really missed this... going out with you guys" Vanessa says. "So since your not getting drunk tonight tell us something we may forget" Kim says. "I got married to Jay two weeks ago" I say. "congrats that's great" Kim says. "You didn't invite us" she says downing the rest of the beer. "I just wanted it to be me and Jay, nobody else" I say. "Okay Vanessa you pick a godparent yet "I ask taking the attention off me. "I um Hailey and Kim you two are my best friends and it was very hard but it's Kim" she says. "Thanks V" Kim says hugging her. "Hails" she says as Kim left the table to use the bathroom. "I know that we are closer but if you thing about it if you and Kim have a kid it can go in a circle" she say. "You want a refill" I ask getting up and she say yes.

 I take the empty beer bottles and put then on the counter. "Upton, Hey" Herrmann says taking the bottles. "It's Halstead now" I say smiling. "congrats. Next rounds on me" he says.  grabbing three beers. "actually just two and a water, I can't drink for the next four and a half months" I say smiling again. "Well congrats again" he say opening the two beers and pouring me a water. "you know what it is yet or are you waiting" he asks. "I told jay that I wanted to wait but now I want to know" I say taking the drinks. "Can you not tell anyone at the station, we still haven't told anyone yet". "No problem Halstead" he say as I walk back to the table.

"What took you so long" Vanessa says grabbing the drinks and giving one to Kim. "I was talking to Herrmann" taking a seat in my spot. "What about you?" I say. "what do you mean" she says. " Like I didn't see you text Kevin asking about Val" I say. "Vanessa" Kim say shocked. "I had to check on her, I love Kev but he can't put her to sleep like I do" she says. "It's girls night no phones, no babies, and no men" Kim says. "To us" I say lifting up my glass to clink. "To us" the say as we clink our glasses.

Jay POV*

Meanwhile at the Adams house the girls just left and were outside talking. "So what have you and Hail's been up to" Adam asks now putting the chicken on the grill. "did I tell y'all we got married" I say kicking the ball to Ry. "No that great man, happy for you" they say. "How was it" Kev asks. "Why you going to ask Vanessa to marry you" Adam says. "No we both agreed to wait until Val's at walking age, plus I gave her that promise ring" he says.  "The courthouse was nice, very intimate" I say. "hungry" Ry says puling my shirt. "foods ready, I made chicken and fries for Ry and the men will split two steaks and there's extra chicken if your still hungry" Adam say walking inside the house with a try a in hand. We walk inside the house and we all was our hands. Kev picks up Val and we sit at the table and eat. "can she even eat solids yet" I ask. "Yeah she  can at six month" Kev says cutting up a small enough piece for her to eat. "Ry how's the food" Adam asks. "good!" he yell. After we eat we sit on the couch and wait for the girls to get home. We watch the game as Val and Ry are asleep in Kev and mines arms.

The door opening pulls us from our thoughts, I check the time and it midnight. Adam gets up and walks over to the door. "Hey we're home" Kim slurs. "Hey Kev Rojas is drunk too" he say. I turn around Hailey is holding them up. "Hey can you hold her" Kevin asks as he hands me the baby. "I'm not drunk" Rojas says. "I'll get them some water" Hailey says letting go of Kim and Vanessa. After the water Vanessa sobered up and Kim fell asleep. "Hey I'm going to take her to the car, can you hold her for a bit more" Kev says. "yeah go" I say as Hailey walks over and sits next to me. "How was it?" I ask her. "it was fun, it was much need for my last time in a bar for a while" she says. "You ready for this?" she asks looking at a sleeping Val. "I think so, our baby's going to be a daddy's girl". "How do you know its a girl". "I don't but I hope it's a girl." I reply bouncing Val when she fusses. "Okay I'm back, thanks for watching her" Kevin says putting Val in her car seat. We get home and go straight to bed.
