Part 12

Hailey's POV*

It's been a couple months since the park and Jay has been see Ry and I at the park almost every week. He even comes to his soccer games. Ry is turning three in two weeks and we are just going to go to the zoo in the August weather. After I get to the district and I'm the only one besides Kevin and were just doing paper work. When Voight gets I walk into his office with my day-off paper work for him to sign but then he tells me that we have an important case where a batch of gins are coming in and he needs all hands on deck. When jay gets tell about the problem " Hey Jay can we talk in the break room" I say as I walk in and he follows." Hey what is it, is it Ryder?' eh says " No it's just I can't get his birthday day off and I don't know what to do and its in two weeks" I say. " Hey it's Okay I have a buddy at the fire house maybe he can show Ryder around the day before the big case" he says. So I go back in and tell Vought I want the day before off and he give it to me. The team spent everyday preparing for the case too make sure nothing went.  On the day before the big day everyone came in the office except for jay and Hailey. " Hey Voight where's Jay and Hailey" says Kevin. " Oh they took the day off don't know where they went" says Voight " Okay" the team responds and gets back to work.

The Day Before Ry's Birthday

Since I couldn't get the day off on his actually birthday Jay suggested we go the day before To the firehouse and meet 51. So its 10am on the day before Ryder's birthday and I made Ry pancake with chocolate chip. Before we leave the house and head to Jays place then to the fire house. When we get to firehouse 51 I take Ry out his car seat hold his hand. As we walk in I see Stella " hey detective, who is this cutie" She says a little shocked. "Well Stella, this is my son and it's his birthday he's three, really likes firetrucks, and Jay said Severide could show him around" I say." Hey well I can show you guys around because squads on a call" Says Stella. " Okay oh, and this is Ryder" I say. " Hey Ryder have ever been on a fire truck before" Stella says before taking Ryder hand to the firetrucks while me and Jay follow. 

We spend a good hour at the house before he falls asleep on Stella's shoulder. Stella show us to the common room. "Hey Hailey's hear" Said Cruz." Who's this little guy" says Herrmann. "Well guys this is my son Ryder and it's his birthday he loves firetrucks so jay thought we could bring hear and Stella showed his around" I say taking a sleeping Ry from Stella and Saying thanks. " It was nice to see you guys has anyone seen Jay" I ask. " Yeah last time I saw him he was with Kelly" said Stella. "Hey can" I say pointing to Ryder" Yeah" she says.

Jay's POV*

"Hey Kelly what's up" I say. " I should be asking you that" He says with a smile. "What do you mean" I say." What's up with you and Hailey I mean I see the way you look at her you like her" he say. " Well yeah I like her but what if she doesn't like me back and she has a kid she has to think about him and how it effect him" I say. before I could say anything else Hailey walks in. " hey sorry to interrupt but Ry's asleep so can you take us back to your place". ' Yeah i'll be right out" I says as I see her walk off and smile. " hey man your in love just tell her how you feel because if you don't you will regret it" says Kelly before I walk out.

We get back to my place and I unbuckle Ryder and hand him to Hailey while I take his car seat out and put it back in Hailey's truck. After Ryder is in the car I say bye and wave as her car pulls out and leaves.
