Amira POV*

It the Tuesday before thanks giving and I wake up and do my hair and brush my teeth. Then I go to wakes Auggie up at 5 :30am. "Auggie come on we got school. Oh my god Auggie it the last day before you can sleep in for a long time." I say dragging him out of bed. "I'm up" He says going to the bathroom to hopefully brush his teeth. Then I walk back to my room put on jeans a hoodie and my black vans. Then I walk to the kitchen get out two bowls and start making cereal. "Cereal again" Auggie say. "Auggie when you learn to cook then we can make something else" I say. " don't call me Auggie, the kids at school said that Auggie is a baby name, so call me Gus" he says. " Okay Gus eat this" I say handing him a bowl of cereal. I finish eat first so I grab my dark blue adidas backpack and Auggie's green backpack and put them by the door. I go back to my room and grab my bus pass, phone, keys, and earbuds. Then I help Auggie get his coat on then I put mine on. I leave mom a note before we leave the house, then I walk Auggie down the street to his school bus stop. "hey Auggie love you, have a good day and wait for me inside school" I say. "It's Gus, Mira" he say while getting on the bus.

Then I wait for the my bus to take me to school. When the bus arrives I get on a sit across from Mr. Grey. It don't really know his name always been to shy to ask but he has grey hair so, Mr. Grey. When to bus stops I get off walk the rest of the way. I check to time and I t's 6:45 I walk past Mrs. Huffington's bakery, the smell of her pastries wake me up. When I get to school I walk straight to class because it's 7:10 and that when it starts 7:10 to 2:00.

Auggie POV*

When I get to school I walk to my class and sit by my friend Judah. "Hey Gus" he says. "Hey Judah" I say back. then the teacher rings her stupid bell to get our attention. "Alright class I want you right what your doing for thanksgiving and who or what you thankful for. Then we will present". she say handing out paper to everyone. After about thirty minutes the teacher comes back up and calls everyone up to the front one at a time and be fore I know it I'm next. " I'm thankful for my family because they love my and were going to play football at thanksgiving" Hadley says. "Okay nice next August" the teacher says. I grab my paper and walk to the front. "I'm thankful for my Mami and Mira because they love me. I'm thankful for Hailey and Jay because they are the policia that saved me and Mira. I'm thankful for Ry because he's my friend.. For thanksgiving me and Mira are going to the police Sargent to eat because Mami as to work." I say as I walk back to my. "Okay who's next" the teacher says.

Amira POV*

The next two days are a blur up until when the door bell rings. "Auggie get the door" I scream as he walk down the short hall. Wearing is "church wear" as he call even thought it's just dark blue pants, a white button down shirt, and suspenders. "Whos at the door" I say walking out my room in a dark orange sweater and light jeans on with my black vans. " Oh hi" I say going back into my room to put on my necklace. It's the a sliver chain with angel wings my dad gave to me before he died, to remember that he is always with me even thought he's with God now. I walk back out, and mom, Hailey, and Jay are talking. "Hi baby you ready to go" mom say. "yeah" I reply. " Okay Auggie let me get a picture of you two" mom says taking out her phone and taking way to may photos. " Mami that's enough or else were gonna be late" I say going back to my room to grab my phone and keys. When I come back mom is taking more picture but now of Auggie and Ryder. I grab my coat then grab Gus' and help him put it on while mom is tying his shoes.

I wait by the door with Auggie and Ry while mom talks to Hailey and Jay. "Okay um Auggie is allergic to shellfish and Mira is quiet in around new people so don't be surprised if she doesn't talk for a while. Also Auggie, my sweet boy wants to be called Gus, it will pass but for now so that there are no tears call him Gus, please. And here's Auggie's EpiPen in case of an emergency. I won't be home when they get back so just remind Mira to help Auggie brush his teeth and braid up his hair. And again thank you so much for doing this, it the first thanksgiving without their dad and I can't be there, so just thanks" Mami says. "No thank you for letting us take them to dinner and thanks for letting us know not to give him any shellfish." Jay say walking back over to the door with mom and Hailey. "Okay guys be good for Hailey and Jay, use your manners, and make sure you say grace before eating. Okay I love you" Mami say giving both me and Auggie a kiss on the forehead. before we all walk out the door.
