Part 14

Kim's POV*

During the investigation everything so going so well until that security guard started talking to Jay. Then those two guys selling illegal drug walked up to me and I followed them to my car and Hailey got made so she came along too. When we got to the car they pulled guns on us and told us to get in that's when I saw Jay and Kevin run over but they were to late because the guys drove off. " Hey where are you taking us" I said. " Shut your damn mouth before I put a bullet in your head" said the smaller guy. When The car stopped they took us out and into some dirty basement. Where they zip-tied and left us.

Hailey's POV*

As me and Kim were locked in that basement all I could think about was Ry. What would he do if I wasn't there? Where would he go? All of those questions made me think of all the good times we had together and it made me think a lot about Jay and how he made being a single mom less hard and more memorable. And I realized just how much I need him in my life. The small guy that brought us here came in once to give us bread and then said " You better get comfortable you'll be here awhile", then left us in the dark.

Jay's POV*

Back at the gun convention

After the men took Kim and Hailey we went back to the district and went through everything that could help us find them. We kept looked for hours, but couldn't find anything. When we could find anything I started to spiral and then I got a call from an unknown number so I walk into the break room and answer it. " Hello" I say. " hello this is windy city preschool I'm calling on behalf of Ryder Upton no one has come to pick him up and you are listed as his emergency contact are you going to pick him up" says the caller. I totally forgot that Estella is visiting her grandkids in Virginia this week. So answer with a yes I'm on my way.  I tell Voight that I'm leaving early to pick up something. 

When I get to the preschool Ryder run right into my arms. " Hi jay where's mommy Ryder says and in that moment had to make up a lie. So I told him that she was staying late at work and that me and him are having a sleep over at my place. When we get to Hailey place I use the spare key she gave me. I then grab some of Ryder's stuff, let him grab a few toys then we leave and go to my place. after we go home we order pizza, build a couch fort and watch Cars 2 then it was bath and bed time. After the movie is over I look over at a sleeping Ry so I put a blanket on him and go to my room set my alarm and go to sleep too.
