(POV still Melodic mood)

After Starlight finished taking care of shining I guided her back to her room.

Before I could do anything else she began to freak out. She started to hit the wall while incoherently yelling.

"Shining!" I yelled as I grabbed both of her wrist and forced her to look at me. "Its ok." I spoke slow enough for her to read my lips.

She sank to her knees crying.

I carefully kneeled down next to her and quickly scribbled a message for her on the notepad.

"Please leave me alone." She mumbled softly.

I cautiously made her look up at me. Almost immediately she tightly closed her amber eyes instead of looking at me.

"Please Mood." She mumbled and lowered her head again.

I pulled out my phone and I could see her temperature was dropping.

"You need to get cleaned up and warm up." I said as I made her look at me.

I stood up and walked her into the bathroom. I was a bit concerned about her possibly hurting herself with the state she was currently in so I decided to clear her bathroom. After a quick scan I was sure there wasn't anything that could be harmful in there.

I began to run the shower for her.

She sluggishly wandered into the bathroom after me. She ended up just sitting on the toilet and stared off like she could see a different world below the floor.

I tried to get her to respond in any way but now she didn't even acknowledge when I made her look at me. I quickly realized I couldn't get her to do this on my own.

I quickly pulled out my phone and messaged the one person I thought could help out.

'Lightspeed have they lowered the code violet yet?'

'I think so. They just released us from the lesson.' The response was almost immediate.

'Good come to Shining's room.'

Before I could even put my phone back into my pocket there was a knock on the door.

"It's unlocked." The door carefully opened. "We're in the bathroom, but remain calm when you get in here."

"Why wouldn't..." Her face dropped from its usual cheery face to one filled with panic. "Oh my god..."

"She can't hear you, but I need you to act calm." I said as I grabbed her arm to stop her from rushing over to Shining.

She took a deep breath and nodded her head.

"I need help cleaning her up. Her nose was broken and she was covered in cuts and bruises. Thankfully Starlight fixed them, but he cant fix her ears without risking permanently making her deaf." I quickly explained as she walked over to examine Shining for herself.

She nodded her head as she kneeled infront of her.

"I take it you dont want to cross any lines." She mumbled while trying to keep her breathing steady.

She wasn't wrong. There were a few lines I didn't want to cross.

"She needs to get cleaned off." I turned around and grabbed Shining's hair brush and handed it to Lightspeed. "That would involve removing her mask. It would be wrong of me to do that."

She looked up at me as if she were trying to read me. Suddenly she smiled and looked back at Shining.

"That's not the only line you're worried about." She whispered as if she was telling a secret. "Isn't that right?"

I felt my cheeks slightly heat up as I tried to focus on anything else. I know she was trying to find something to focus on so she doesn't panic about Shining's condition.

Lightspeed chucked and shook her head.

"Well Shining..."

"Please dont say anything to her." I quickly said cutting her off.

"I wont. She would want to hear it from you." She walked over to me and forced me to turn around. "Why dont you go find her something to put on after the shower?"

I left them in the bathroom and carefully closed the door.

"Shit." I muttered to myself.

'Am I really that easy to read?'

I opened her wardrobe and grabbed a pair of blue and black fleece pajama pants and a grey hoodie.

I knocked on the bathroom door after a few minutes.

"Lightspeed I'm going to grab some food for her and see if we can get her to eat something. Do you want anything?" I asked through the door.

"She's not going to willingly eat anything tonight." She shouted. "She just needs some rest and she might eat in the morning."

She stepped out of the room so I handed her the clothes for Shining.

"I actually wont have the time to stay after she's dressed. We have a briefing in about ten minutes." She said before returning to the bathroom.

A few more minutes later Lightspeed was guiding Shining over to her bed. Who was dragging their feet ever so slightly.

After Lightspeed got Shining to sit down she saw the notepad and grabbed it. She tore the first page out and sat it in Shining's lap before she went on to write a message.

Shining nodded her head slightly as her eyes wandered over the page.

"I told her I'd be back later to check on her. I'll stay with her tonight if you need to get some rest."

"I think I'm gonna stay and keep an eye on her." I sighed and looked at the tormented girl who moved to sitting on the floor.

Lightspeed said her goodbyes before she ran off to the briefing.

I sat down on the floor across from Shining and watched as her eyes frantically looked over the paper Lightspeed tore from the notepad.

I cautiously reached out and touched her shin to get her attention. She jumped throwing her hands up and accidentally tossed the paper into the air.

For a second I watched the paper gracefully float down towards us before grabbing it from the air.

'Do you need a hug?' Was scribbled in my handwriting on the page.

I smiled before showing it to her. Her breathing began to pick up again as she looked between me and the paper.

She warily nodded her head before I moved closer. I cautiously wrapped my arms around her and she forcibly buried her face in my shoulder. The way she acted was like this hug was way over due, but also like her life depended on it as she tightened her grip on the back of my shirt.

The first couple minutes of the hug seemed like she was worried I was going to leave, then she started to cry into my shoulder. I began to rub small circles into her back as she adjusted how she was leaning against me which forced me to change how I was sitting.

I couldn't tell you exactly how long she was crying, because my only focus was comforting her, but after a while she fell asleep leaning into my shoulder.

Somehow I let myself become effectively trapped by the sleeping girl. If I even tried to move I risked waking her up and having to comfort her crying until she passed out again. At least this way I was sitting somewhat comfortably and she didn't seem to be too uncomfortable herself.
