*POV change to Shining dragon*

I dont know what happened. One minute I was fighting to keep the room warm and I could hear Illusionary yelling back to me about help being on the way. While the man was warning to shoot if I even moved.

The next the bomb started to loudly beep and the screen began to flash a bright blue.

It all happened so fast that when I tried to redirect the flames I couldn't move fast enough. The force of then blast threw me against the metal wall. The loud booming echoed through the metal room until I couldn't hear anything.

All I could do is stare at the soot covering my hands as I leaned against the wall.

After while I could feel liquid trickling out of my ears and nose. I wearily touched the liquid coming from my ears to find a dark red liquid coating my finger tips. I assumed the same was coming from my nose.

I wearily looked up and saw a nightmare displayed infront of me. I couldn't help but close my eyes and scream. At first I couldnt recognize that I was actually screaming until my throat began to hurt from it.

Before long someone grabbed me and pulled me outside into the rain.

*Meanwhile Melodic mood POV*

"Doctor Thompson may I have a word?" I asked the man.

"Oh... Melodic mood." He seemed nervous. "What can I help you with?"

"I'm looking for Shining  dragon, and I'm pretty sure you know where she is."

He immediately began to step backwards as if he was going to try to run away from me.

"Now are you going to tell me what I need to know and possibly spare your job or are you going to make me sing and force you to tell me?" I asked as the man backed himself into a corner.

"The director scheduled a test out of town. She's in an abandoned town's bank." The man began to cower. "She should be on her way back by now."

"What is the test?" I asked as I pulled my phone out and began to record.

He quickly began to explain everything, from talking Shining to the director to what Illusionary was to do, he even brought up something about a bomb but he didnt finish explaining because the speakers cut him off.

I stopped the recording as soon as I heard the speakers go off.

"Code Violet. Keep all recruits clear of the halls. I repeat Code Violet."

His eyes went wide as he heard the message. We both knew who that message was for.

Instantly my heart sank in my chest.

"Oh shit." I mumbled before quickly rushing out of the room before he could try to stop me.

I stopped in my tracks when I saw Illusionary walking her to medical. She was sluggishly walking with her head hung low.

Honestly it hurt to see her looking so defeated. After everything she's been through they keep throwing more at her.

"You are dismissed Illusionary, I'll be taking this recruit to medical." I firmly ordered as I walked over to them.

I quickly noted Shining didn't even notice I was there.

"That's not up..."

"I'm not asking you for permission." I tried to speak calmly for her sake. "She is under my watch and if you're not happy with it; I'm sure that everyone higher than the director will inform they dont care how you feel."

He growled before turning around and storming off.

Shining almost turned around and followed him until she finally saw me. Tears began to fill her eyes as she quickly tried to hide her face. In that split second I noticed dried blood leading from her nose and all of the soot covering the rest of her face.

"Hey its ok."

I carefully reached out and moved her wet hair out of her face. Which caused her to flinch away from me.

When she pulled away it caused her hair to fly around and I saw traces of blood near her ears as well.

I placed my hand on her upper arm and she jumped at my touch again. So I decided to sing to calm her down some, but she wasn't responsive to it at all. Which only give me a bad feeling about her condition, because there is only one way my singing wouldn't affect her without the earplugs.

"Shit." I hissed under my breath.

There wasnt much I could do standing here so I began to guide her towards medical.

While we were walking she kept her head down low and only chose to walk when she saw I was doing the same, but at one point she stopped walking all together and began shaking.

I cautiously guided her to look at me. "Hey. I'm right here." I spoke a bit slower so she could attempt to read my lips. "Everything will be ok."

She hesitantly nodded her head, but her shaking didn't stop.

I carefully wrapped my arm around her and rubbed her upper arm while I continued to walk her to medical.

"Thank you for bringing her here. You can leave now." A doctor I didn't know said as he scurried around the room.

"Actually I'm staying with her." I said while guiding Shining to sit on the examination table.

I'm not about to leave her with some random man wearing a doctor's coat.

"I'm sorry. I'm not allowed to let you stay unless she says you can." He actually seemed sincere about his words. "She has to remove her mask..."

I nodded my head and turned to leave when I felt a small tug on the edge of my dress. I looked down to see Shining holding onto the hem as if she would break without it.

I grabbed a note pad and pen off of the near by desk and wrote down 'I'll be right outside the door.'

She shook her head and mumbled something.

"Stay, please." She spoke louder this time and she sounded terrified.

"I'll turn away when she takes her mask off." I said to the doctor.

I ended up sitting behind her on the examination table and she heavily leaned her back against mine. Occasionally she would lean forward a bit to write stuff down to answer the doctor's questions.

While she was answering questions I decided to send the audio to the commissioner with a message explaining who was involved and what I was told.

"It would seem her being in such a close proximity of the bomb has caused temporary deafness. Atleast we can only hope it is temporary." The doctor said as he came around the table to me. "Were you there with her when this happened?"

"No." I said as I glanced behind me.

"Good. She's going to need a friend right now, someone not connected to it." The man sighed and sat down on a near by stool. "She's in shock about what happened. I recommend keeping a close eye on her."

"I'm sorry, I thought I knew all the doctor's on this base. Who are you?" I asked him as he sat down.

"Oh. I'm Starlight. I'm actually a hero, but my power is not very effective for fighting." He smiled at me. "I'm only here because I heard that the recruits this year seem to be getting hurt a lot more than normal."

"From my understanding that is true. The villains have been more active lately." I glanced over at Shining. "But this wasn't done by one of them."
