Shining Heroes

Chapter 97

I wish I could say this trip has been eventful, but so far it feels like we entered a mess of hidden and unorganized documents. We started our search looking for any traces of the names of the heroes and villains, but the public files were such a mess that most files weren't entirely one person or they had random pages that were missing.

"I think I found something." I heard Mood mutter from her computer.

I quickly rolled my chair over to her.

"Ok so it seems Frostbite is somehow related to Flame demon." She said showing me a photo of an article stating 'Being a hero is a family thing.'

"They were the first heroes that actually openly stated being siblings." Mood softly explained. "It's rare for siblings to even know the other is a hero, but sometimes I guess families are overly proud about it."

"You mean like Hydron and Miss Cupid?"

"Well Hydron refuses to have a life outside of being a hero and doesn't wear a mask of any sort, so I dont think there was much of a hard time figuring it out."

We read over the article, but The Shielded Wonder never came up. Even though she did appear in one of the pictures.

"Ok so we know how those two are linked I think, but what about the other woman?" I asked softly.

"I dont know..." She muttered. "I remember learning about her but she wasn't recorded much."

"I'm gonna keep searching for her."

I rolled my chair back to where I was searching through paper documents.

After an hour of silence I finally found something on The Shielded Wonder, but a majority of the file was blocked out. At the very end of the file it had been stamped with a bold red ink.

"Hey Mood what does see file HR2796 mean?"

"Whatever is blocked out should be in the hero records." She said while still reading her screen.

Suddenly her head perked up and she came over to me and looked over my shoulder at the document.

"They must be covering up something." She mumbled

"Well why dont we go look for it." I asked while putting the files down.

"It's not that easy I'm afraid. You need to have a high security clearance to get to the hero records."

"Dont you have a high security clearance?"

"I do, but I wont be able to search that whole area alone."

"Is there anyway I'd be get in there?"

It was as if that question immediately sparked an idea. "Give me a few minutes and I will see if I can get a distraction."

Sure enough a few after mood made a call a group of security guards ran past us and outside the building.

She looked back at her phone and sighed. "We are clear, but we're on our own sneaking you out."

I could only assume she contacted her sister to do something.

"Come on." She waved me forward after scanning her hand to unlock the door.

Once inside the huge room filled to the brim with files.  I honestly didn't expect more files in here than out in the public files. Mood seem to know the general area we were looking for.

"HR2769..." I silently followed her while she repeated the file name.

Atleast I was following her until I caught sight a box with my name on it.
