"Mood are you ok?" I asked softly as she drove us to back to the base.
"That was a lot closer than I liked." Her voice sounded a bit hoarse.
She soflty sighed as she came to a red light. Some reason I yawned in response.
"Thank you." She had a slight smile hint at the corner of her lips. "You think well on your feet."
Despite the fact she was trying to force a smile I could tell something was bothering her.
"Mood..."
"Are you warm enough?" She cut me off before I could even start my question. "I noticed your shaking."
"I think I may have over exerted myself." I answered honestly. "I've been using my powers all night. And the shield..." I zoned out while I spoke.
"Have you done that before?" She asked bringing me back to reality.
"Once; the day I discovered my powers part of the ceiling almost crushed the girl I saved, but I passed out shortly after. I dont know how I did it."
Her head shot over to look at me before she turned up the heat in the car.
"Do you feel like that right now?" She asked as she aimed her attention back at the road.
"A little, but I think I will be fine once I warm up more."
"Are you sure?" She asked sounding concerned for me.
"Yeah." I smiled and leaned into the seat. "I mean it would make sense right?"
"I guess it does."
Before long she parked the car and we went straight to medical. Where we were taken by separate doctors.
Apparently Mood got done before me and I saw her quickly walk past the room I was in. I tried to wave to her but I noticed she was busy on her phone.
*POV change to Melodic mood*
"Sir, I've got the flashdrive in my possession."
"Good atleast you did something right tonight." He growled at me through the phone.
"Sir?" I questioned.
"How do you expect to be a hero if all you can do is keep a flash drive in your pocket?" He began to yell into the phone. "Do you really think you can live up to the potential of other heroes?"
I grit my teeth as tears threatened to spill from my eyes.
"You're weak and letting your emotions take control of your actions. What were you thinking?" He was interrupted by someone talking on his side. "The next time I call you better have good news."
The line abruptly died.
I hesitantly put my phone on my desk as I sat down.
All at once the dam that was holding back my tears broke. Tears flooded my cheeks faster than I could wipe them away.
There was a soft knock at my door after a few minutes.
"Mood?" Shining's voice was muffled through the door. "May I come in?"
"One second." My voice cracked as I spoke.
"If you're trying to hide that you were crying I already know." She mumbled. "I heard you as I was walking by."
'Did anyone else hear?' More concerns began to fill my mind.
"Come in." I mumbled.
She slowly opened the door and poked her head in.
