Shining Heroes

Chapter 54

When Mood told me I was going to do look out with her I didn't expect her to drag me to a store where Miss Cupid was waiting for us.

"Oh I'm so glad you guys could come." She beamed with excitement. "I need you both to pick out and outfit. Dont worry about what you grab. Most of the clothing here accommodates for all the work a hero has to put in while ok the job."

We both nodded and began to browse the store.

"Hey Shining dont worry about what you get all hero outfits are covered by your hero funds. I dont know if anyone has told you that yet."

"Hero funds?" She genuinely peaked my interest.

"Everytime the news, other than HRN, airs anything about you royalties get paid to a bank account in your name."

I nodded my head as she walked off, to go find mood I assume.

I ended up deciding on a suit and heading to fitting room to try it on.

When I walked out of the dressing room and I was surprised by the amount of flexibility that the suit had. Like I know this apparently a store for heroes but still.

I was testing the suit by doing some stretches, but immediately stopped when I saw Miss Cupid walk over to me.

"I didn't know you cleaned up so well." She said before she began circling me.

I glanced down at the navy blue suit and shrugged my shoulders.

"I dont know honestly. I've never been the best at picking out outfits like this."

"Are you kidding? You look like you walked right out of the runway." She looked shocked.

Honestly what she said was a slight confidence boost honestly. Especially since she had me pick the outfit out.

I could hear a soft muffled sound as she turned away, but my hearing was still messed up enough that I couldn't understand what she said.

She was over at the dressing room Mood was in and knocked on the door. Immediately Mood opened the door to reveal herself in a pink cocktail dress with a slightly darker shade of pink floral pattern accenting the bottom of the dress.

"Why exactly are we having to dress up if we are just look out?" Mood asked casually as if she didnt really mind too much.

Miss Cupid turned and pulled me next to Mood.

"You two are going to pretend to be on a date." She seemed to be examining our outfits. "But I need you to keep an eye on the crowd and make sure this isn't a set up."

She motioned for us to follow her to the car. She dropped us off and drove away as we headed inside. By the time we were being seated I noticed that she was walking in with a man wearing a black suit with a black dress shirt.

I glanced back to Mood and nudged over towards them.

"What does he look like?" She asked me instead of turning around to see the man.

"Male probably late twenties, dressed in all black, bleached hair roots showing a bit, he's..." The waiter began to guide them right past us. "I'd love to try it, but I'm afraid I'm still on that low carb diet." I quickly changed the topic as I looked down at the menu.

As I looked at the menu I caught sight of the fact this man was wearing white and blue running shoes.

I immediately shot my head back up to Mood after they finished passing us.

"Do you think today would be an ok day to cheat on my diet?"

"I dont see why not. It's not like we have the time to do this whenever we like." Mood looked concerned for a split second but her expression quickly changed.
