First period went by too fast, and before I knew it, it was time for me to head to French class.

Sadly, I didn't have any of my friends in my french class. They were all on the opposite side of the campus.

I was walking down the hallway when I was shoved against the wall.

"Answers now." The boy practically growled in my face.

"Answers for what?" I asked while trying to keep my voice from wavering.

"The french homework." One of his friends stood next to him.

I never could remember this boy's name, not that I would want to.

I tried to push past them to get into my class.

"Bon sang, t'es vraiment stupide." I muttered before he pushed me back against the wall.

"What did you just say?" He growled again.

"I didn't have homework." That was the truth for me. I was passing the class with an A, so I wasn't given the grade booster.

"Cool." Both of them high fives each other before walking off into the classroom.

I followed shortly behind them and sat down a few rows in front of them.

Sure enough, as soon as the bell rang, the teacher walked in and closed the door behind her.

"Bonjour les étudiants." She said in her usual chipper tone.

"Bonjour Madame Smith." A good majority of us responded back to her.

"I hope those of you I assigned homework to did it."  She smiled as she looked around the class. "As you know, not everyone had homework given to them. Those who did I gave it to you as a chance to boost your grade up."

I felt a paper ball get thrown at me, but I chose to ignore it.

"This year final will not be like the ones in past years, and I'd like to not have too many students not pass this semester." She went and sat down at her desk. "To ensure it is done, I'm giving you till the end of class to finish it. Use this time wisely."

Immediately, the class split off into groups and chatted amongst themselves before the two boys came over and sat at my desk.

"No homework, really?"

"I said I didn't have homework..."

"Elizabeth, I need you to come to my desk please."

They took a step back before walking over to her desk.

"Let's step into the hall." She said as she looked behind me.

As I turned around, I saw the boys keeping a close eye on me.

"Elizabeth, I see how Chad and Peter treat you. They used to jump from tormenting kid to kid, but you enrage them, so they keep picking on you." She sighed and looked through the window on the door. "Why do you choose to draw those bullies' attention to you?"

"As you said, they'd pick on other kids. I've dealt with them for years, and I realized they can't hurt other people of they are focused on me." I looked her in the eyes, and she sighed.

"Elizabeth, I know you want to be a hero, but a hero doesn't get themselves into trouble. Antagonizing them will only bring you trouble." She opened the door and looked at the class. "Elizabeth you're about to be a senior colleges wont look at someone who draws trouble to them."

"I'll think about what you said."

I sat at my desk and dealt with more taunting from the boys as they gave me empty threats.

I have no idea if they actually took the time in class to do the work but as soon as the bell rang everyone stood up and left, some placed the papers on the teacher's desk.

Oddly enough as soon as I exited the room I saw Claire waiting for me.

"Hey how'd you get her so fast?" I asked as I walked over to her.

"The teacher let us out early I beat my track record so I didnt have much reason to stay after he released us." She smirked.

"Awesome!" I high fived her. "What was your mile this time?"

"4 minutes and 39 seconds." She had a big smirk on her face. "I think I can go faster if I keep this up."

We started walking towards the Science building when I felt someone shove me from behind and I fell hard against the ground.

"What the hell Chad!" I heard Claire yell.

"She stood there and lied to my face and now I have to go to summer school." He yelled as he picked me up off the ground the collar of the hoodie. My toes barely touching the ground.

"I never lied. I didnt have the homework. Cause unlike you, I actually do the work."

While I try to speak bravely he actually terrifies me cause something about him tells me he could easily break me in two.

"Claire you need to pick your side. You cant be cool and hang out with freaks like this one." He shouted at her.

"Chad put her down now." Claire demanded.

"I should have known you'd choose freak." He snarled and raised his fist to hit me.

I felt rage rush through my entire being as this guy looked into my eyes and insulted my friend.

I guess something startled him because he instantly dropped after fear struck his eyes.

"What are you?" He mumbled before he ran off to who knows where.

"El, are you ok?" Claire was quick to my side and helped me up.

"Yeah. I'll be fine." I said as I placed my hand where he had been holding onto me. "What scared him off?"

"You did. Your eyes changed for a split second." She sounded like she was amazed.

"Adrenaline must have made you see things. There is no way my eyes changed." I said, dusting my pants off. "Thank you for the help, but we both need to get to class."

She seemed like she wanted to say something else, but she just nodded her head in agreement before I started heading towards the science building for my anatomy class.
