I could feel my energy draining fast as I forced my shield to stay. There were only two options one of us were going to run out of energy, or they were going to run out of material to launch at us, causing the building to collapse. Unfortunately, I was already starting to feel weak, and he still had a lot of rocks to send at us.

Claire was behind still behind me. I could tell she was in a lot of pain based on her breathing.

For a second, my shield faded long enough to get hit in the shoulder. The pain caused a surge of adrenaline, forcing my shield to come back. Without the pills, I wasn't sure how much longer I could hold on.

"I need you to get out of here when you get the chance." I yelled at her.

"You know I can't do that." I just knew she was smiling despite being in pain.

"I promised your brother I'd keep you safe, so please just this once, listen." I yelled at her. "I can't promise we'll both make it out if you dont listen."

My shield flickered out again for a split second, causing my calf to get hit.

I heard her gasp from behind me, but I couldn't turn around without moving the shield.

"Friends don't leave each other to die alone." She barely muttered out.

"Claire, please." I begged.

The longer I stood on my injured leg, the more energy I could feel draining to the point I felt like I was going to pass out.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Mood arrive at the doorway. For a moment, the person didn't see her, but as soon as they realized my attention wasn't on him, he took aim towards her. Mood ducked back behind the stone wall that was keeping her safe.

I threw a ball of fire at the man while he was distracted, but it wasn't enough to take him down, and his attention was back at me.

One moment, I felt confident that we were going to both get out, that was until my shield flickered, and I felt something slam me against the ground.

I closed my eyes as I landed on my back.

If I've ever regretted anything in my life, it would probably be that I opened my eyes. When I opened my eyes, I found Claire chose to shield me with her body when my shield went down.

"Claire..." I mumbled as I slowly sat up.

It was almost like the world had froze, and Claire just weakly smiled as blood quickly stained her brightly colored outfit.

She didn't say anything as she fell to the side, and her body immediately went limp.

"Claire!" I said as I shook her. I placed my hand against and her pulse was non existent.

*POV change to Melodic mood*

The entire room went silent, so I quickly looked around the corner to see Shining kneeling beside Lightspeed.

The thing is, Lightspeed wasn't moving as blood pooled around the both of them.

"Claire!" Shining yelled as if she were begging for her friend.

The villain was smirking at first as they prepared for another attack.

"Get ready." I said to Hydron.

I quickly looked back into after I heard Shining scream. I didn't expect to see flames shooting out of her eyes as she slowly stood up and took off her jacket. As soon as her jacket hit the ground, her entire body was engulfed in flames, and she let out a scream that sounded like a war cry.
