*POV change to Shining Dragon*

I wish I could say that I'm fine, but I was frozen in shock stating at the screen that was still displaying records we couldn't find.

"Hello is someone in here?"

"Shit..." Mood softly mumbled.

She quickly closed my laptop with the flashdrive still in it and shoved it in my bag.

"I'll grab his attention and you need to sneak out." She spoke barely above a whisper.  "Firefly I'm sorry, but you have to go before you get in more trouble."

She gently kissed my forehead and looked around quickly.

"I'll meet you at your place."

I nodded as she walked into sight of the guard."

"Oh I didn't realize you came  in here."

"No worries," Mood spoke in an over cheery tone. "Actually since your here could you help me find something?"

"Actually I've..."

"Oh please it will only take a moment and I can't go back without the file I need." She quickly cut the guy off and began to pull him further back into the room as I silently moved towards the door. "You see I need to find a file on Frostbite to see why she keeps going after someone I'm protecting."

Finally I made it to the door and thankfully i managed to open it silently and slip out of the room and start on my way home.

*POV change to Melodic mood*

I signed as I sat in my car. I wish I had known that guy was going to check the door logs to see it opened while he was gone, but atleast my distraction did help Shining sneak out.

I had gotten use to Shining's small talk when driving to the point the car felt odd without some sort of of sound so I turned on the radio as I drove. I adjusted it to a news station to see if there was anything if interest they were discussing.

Instead I heard this, "Is Shining dragon reinstating the sidekick program? Stay tuned and we'll fill you in on all the juicy details."

'This is not the attention she needs right now.'

I decided silence was better than hearing them advertise something that wasn't true about Shining.

Thankfully it wasn't too long of a drive to Shining's apartment. I assumed she would have already made it here so I decided to head up to her apartment.

When I opened the door to Shining's apartment there was a blonde woman sitting on the couch.

The woman perked up before she saw it was me and sighed, "I was hoping you'd be Elizabeth."

"Obviously I'm not her, so tell me what do you think you're doing here?" I asked while glaring at the woman.

"I could ask you the same thing." The woman smirked like she was amused.

"Either answer my question or leave before I force you to."

She just laughed like she was daring me to try. Then the front door opened.

"Mood sorry I'm late I had to change to get out of there. Why are you..." Shining froze when she saw the woman. "Why are you in my apartment?"

"Elizabeth." The woman smiled.

"Actually I think the bigger question is who are you?"  Shining quickly stated.

I immediately placed myself in between them to protect Shining.

"I take it you haven't fully looked through my flashdrives."  She made a small snowball form out of thin air and raised my guard even more.

Frostbite really planned all of this. What does she gain from having hiding learn all of this right now?

"What are you doing here?" I growled at the woman.

"Please this is a family visit. No fighting  necessary." She made the snow ball disappear and raised her hands showing they were empty.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what made you think it's ok to spring a bunch of traffic stuff on someone then come visit like you've always been around." I glanced back to see tears in Shining's eyes.

"I just came to give you the truth everyone..." she glared at me as she spoke, "else is hiding from you."

"I've known people hide things from me, but I don't want to be associated with you. You and your friends have attempted to harm me and people I care about countless times." I could see a bit of a glow starting to radiate from her. "What is your goal here?"

"Your family, I would never let them hurt you." She quickly stated as if she were offended. "Honestly I planted the flashdrives because I wanted you to visit your mother and I didn't want to risk you not believing me."

Frostbite seemed to actually seem a bit remorseful, but I didn't want to risk it being a trap.

"Your mother doesn't have very long, and I know if she was still there she would give the world to see you."

I didn't trust her. This had to be a trap to try and get Shining alone.

"Since I was her only family remaining I moved her to a safer location where she would be cared for."

I looked back at Shining and she looked conflicted.

"If you don't want to go you don't have to." I said reassuringly.

"I want to believe you're telling the truth, but..."

"Look if you don't trust me fine." Frostbite seemed to be grasping at straws trying to convince her. "Do what ever you need to feel safe, but please visit her."

Shining then looked away from her and made eye contact with me and I knew instantly she wanted to meet her, but she seemed to be trying to get an answer from me.

"Give us the location and we'll go there." I said firmly.

"If you're going to be there then I have to go." She countered. "I'm not going to trust some government dog with what little family I have left."
