After the crowd eventually moved on and went back to training. I grabbed Claire's wrist before she could walk away.

"What is your hero name again?" I whispered.

"Lightspeed." She looked around the room. "Do you want a short intro to everyone here?"

"That would be great." I smiled before my phone buzzed.

I sighed as I pulled it out and it was a yellow screen telling me I had been challenged again.

"Ok, I'll teach you everyone's names and powers at lunch." She started to try and walk away again but her phone buzzed as well.

"Wait. Who is Steel?"

"How are you already pissing this many people off?" She shouted at me causing everyone to stare.

"I dont know!" I threw my arms into the air.

She pinched her nose and pointed over at a guy who's appearance just screamed jock.

"He's a super strength variant. His hands and feet can harden into a steel like component. When he hits things he causes more damage to whatever it is." She spoke intensely like she was irritated.

"Ok so super stength, normally they are slower right?" I asked while trying to avoid looking at the guy.

"Sometimes in more than one way."

My phone started to frantically buzz and when I looked at it again a timer was going down.

Immediately everyone started to clear the center of the room.

"Are fight like this normal?"

"Well it's better this way so they can make sure we dont hurt eachother too much." Claire began to gently nudge me to the center of the room. "This way people dont accidentally kill eachother."

The guy was already standing there waiting for me.

"Ok so rules." The instructor sighed as he walked over to me. "No permanently maiming, killing, or intentionally scaring your opponent. No attacking until after the barrier is fully raised. If your chooses to tap out or I call the match you will stop attacking." He sounded like he was fading of some sort of script before he turned to face Steel. "Especially you."

Steel smirked as the instructor walked away.

Slowly a glass like barrier began to raise around us and Steel began to pop his knuckles. Every few seconds hed pop a different one.

"Dude just pop them all and get it over with." I quickly got irritated by the noise.

"Its an intimidation tatic." He quipped while popping another one.

"Its not intimidating, it just sounds gross." I felt slightly bad because he looked a little upset by the comment.

I stopped paying attention him and glanced at the barrier. That was a bad choice. As soon as I had my head turned upwards his shoulder made contact with my stomach and I was slammed into the barrier.

It didn't take long for the match to get called. While I managed to get a few good hits in I just wasn't as experienced as him in fighting yet.

The barrier lowered and instructor left the room again, so I walked over to the wall and bent over to catch my breath.

"God I still have one more of these today dont I?" I mumbled to myself.

I looked over and could see steel appeared even angrier than while we were fighting.

"I dont understand how someone as pathetic as you is more dangerous than me." He shouted storming over to me before he grabbed ahold of my shirt. "There's no way you should be a black shirt you are barely a green."

"Je ne suis pas surpris que quelqu'un avec une force surhumaine n'ait pas de cerveau./I am not surprised that someone with superhuman strength has no brain." I muttered through my teeth.

"What did you say to me freak?" He raised his fist and shoved me against the wall.

I hissed as my back once again was hit against the wall by this guy.

"I shouldn't have to remind you that harming other recruits outside of training is strictly forbidden." A voice boomed over the speakers.

Steel froze as if he were debating disobeying the voice. Then suddenly he let me go and began to stomp away.

I quickly noticed he had walked over towards Claire who was talking to a few other people.

"You should watch what you say to him, next time he might not listen to them." Melodic Mood said as she walked over to me.

I couldn't help but smirk. "Its not like he understood what I said anyway."

"How so?" She looked curious.

I realized she hadn't actually heard the conversation.

"He doesn't speak french." I looked over and saw him punch a hole into the wall.

"So you speak french?" She asked more so sounding intrigued now.

"Oui, je parle français./Yes, I speak French." I smiled at her. "I've been fluent ever since I was little."

She hummed before standing against the wall next to me.

"How much do you know about fighting exactly?" She suddenly asked.

"I mean I use to get into fights with a few people at school, but it was never this extreme." She just nodded her head gently as she listened to my answer.

"You didn't seem motivated when you were fighting. Both with Steel and Lightspeed." She stated like she had been observing me. "You were holding back too much. You can't hold back that much in a fight."

"What do you want me fighting like I did against Frostbite?" I asked trying to hold back the irritation in my voice.

"Yes. Your PCR will prevent you from doing to much damage to others in a fight." She finally turned to face me. "They gave it to you to learn to control your powers not to stop them."

"But before the director said..."

"She said that so you'd be cautious of them, but..."

She stopped mid thought like she wasn't supposed to say what ever it was she was about to.

"But?"

"But just try to find a way to motivate yourself more and dont worry to much about about hurting others." She turned and smile. "After all we all have powers of some sort here."

"Ok thanks." I smiled back. "If I do that do you thinking might be able to avoid getting beat too badly by Golem?"

"Its probable."
