Chapter 87

*POV is still Melodic mood*

"Fine..." The woman groaned. "I take it you know her then?"

"I do."

That seemed to be all she needed to know and she turned her attention back to Shining.

"Why did you start that fight?" The woman asked.

"What?" I questioned as I aimed my attention back at Shining.

"That's not like you Elizabeth." The woman scowled.

Honestly confused about how this woman knows Shining and how did she start this fight without me noticing.

"That man put something in her drink." Shininh mumbled as the alcohol she drank was sinking in. "I couldn't let that happen."

"I already knew." I sighed. "I told you I could handle myself."

"That man put something in your drink?" The owner asked me while Shining continued to talk to the lady.

"Yes, but I wasn't going to drink it." I said pointing to the pink drink.

The owner grabbed the drink and took it to the bar and pulled out a small strip of paper.

"Je suis désolé Madame Smith./I'm sorry Mrs Smith." Shining mumbled.

"You cant be starting fights." I sighed. "You already know it causes you trouble."

I honestly wasn't mad she started the fight, but she really shouldn't be doing things like that. Especially when she's hurt and has been drinking...

"She would stand up for people, but you must be important to her if she was willing to start a fight for you." The woman said before turning back to the man behind the bar.

"She's a good friend."  Shining responded with a yawn. "She's my best friend."

I could tell she wasn't drunk enough to out our relationship which I was thankful for, but just the term friend left something to be longed for.

"Yeah..." The owner quickly cut in. "Which guy were you here with?"

He was holding a bright orange strip of paper in between his fingers.

"I'm not allowed to disclose that." I responded without much thought to what I said.

"Fine I'll just ask Jake. That man is getting it." The bar owner was angry as he grabbed his bouncer and stormed out of the building.

I quickly went to follow him but the woman stopped me.

"Jay can handle this without them knowing you're involved. My husband is good at handling people." The woman forced Shining to her feet. "Do you know where she lives?"

"I do."

"Good follow me out back and take her home."

I noticed the woman placed a hand on Shining's side causing her to jump.

"Careful she got hurt in a fight last night." I warned the woman and she immediately moved her hand to Shining's shoulder.

She guided me through the kitchen while she drug Shining. The flames on the stove began to flare up as she drug Shining past them.

"Please take her straight home. I dont want her to cause more trouble tonight."

"I will. I dont think I need anything else to worry about tonight." I said as I carefully took Shining from her.

I expected Shining to be a bit of a handful while I tried to get her to my car but what I didn't expect was for her friend to be snooping around.

"Where  are you taking her?" The boy demanded answers.
