"Are you sure about this?" I asked as I looked at the pink cut off shirt she had me put on.

"Trust me it always the busiest during the weekends. It easily gets a hundred degrees in there."

I quickly put on my leather jacket and turned to show her.

"Perfect."

She sped put of the room and looked ready to go to a party. I didnt notice at first she had concern riddling her face.

"Your dad..." she was cut off by a knocking on my door. "El..."

I quickly got up and opened the door to find my dad standing there holding a big yellow envelope and wearing a bright blue mask.

"Here. Dont try to contact us again." He held it out to me.

"What is this?" I cautiously grabbed the envelope.

He turned to leave but I grabbed his wrist.

"Dad why are you doing this?" I softly asked.

"Let me go." He ordered through his teeth.

"What did I ever do to deserve this from you?" I asked letting him go. "I worked hard everyday to be the perfect child for both of you. I'm sorry if I'm  not good enough."

"I never wanted you." He yelled. "You cause nothing but pain to everything you interact with." He showed my a burn on his arm. "How can you expect to be a hero when you have a power that onlu causes destruction."

I was shocked and couldn't do anything but stare at him.

"Dont try to find us. We left for a reason." His words felt like venom. "You're no longer my kid."

He quickly turned on his heals and walked down the hallway without another word.

"El?" Claire softly mumbled as I slammed my door closed.

"We aren't talking about this right now. Let's go forget life for a bit." I gumbled as I threw the envelope onto my desk.

"Are you sure? That was pretty big. Quiet a few people saw..."

"Then let's go show them I'm fine." I said cutting her off.

I grabbed my phone and wallet before opening my door again.

Outside of my dorm there was a small crowd of other recruits. I spotted Spark in the crowd. They were just wearing a white v neck and a pair of faded jeans.

"Hey you ready to go Spark?" I asked as Claire followed me out of my room.

"Y... yeah." They mumbled before following us down the hall.

Before long we were out of rang of everyone and almost at the elevator.

"So your dad is Mr Forget Me Not?" Spark asked breaking the silence.

"It would appear so." I said as I ushered them into the elevator. "So tell me what is the plan for tonight?"

They looked at each other and came to some agreement.

"Why dont we decide when we get there?"

It was an awkwardly quiet walk. Spark and Claire would occasionally say something, but I wasnt ready to join any conversations yet.

After almost 2 hours of walking we entered a busy street and turned down a dimly lit alley.

"When we get to the door, let me do the talking." Spark ordered after they suddenly stopped infront of me. "Just act confident about what I say."

We both nodded our head in  agreement, but I couldnt help but wonder what they meant.

The stepped down a set of stairs to the basement off what I assumed to be an apartment building.

Spark knocked on the door with two soft knocks and one loud knock followed by another soft one.

The door cracked open and the sound of music boomed behind the tall man answering the door. He nodded his head to us as if he was expecting something

"The moon sets at noon." Spark said confidently as the man looked at Claire.

After a moment he stopped and seemed to be staring at me as if he were searching for any sign of something.

He gently nodded his head and opened the door the rest of the way permitting us to enter. After we all entered he slammed the door behind us and guided us towards the sound.

"He's a nice man. No one knows why he doesnt talk though." Claire whispered in my ear.

He moved a curtain to the side to reveal a dazzling lights flashing various colors and various people dancing in a hunger crowd.

"Thank you." I said to the man and he looked taken back before he gave me a kind smile.

Spark immediately lead us to a table and left to order a few drinks.

"Hey you're that new hero." A young man with sea green hair said as he leaned against our table. "Flaming dragon, right?"

"Shining dragon." I said correcting him.

Claire kicked me from under the table.

"You may be my only competition for claiming top hero right now." He smirked.

I could honestly see he'd be the type of guy almost everyone would fall in love with.

"Sorry where are my manners, I'm Hydron." He held out his hand to me.

At first I didn't react to his hand, but when Claire kicked me again I did.

He immediately leaned down and kissed my knuckle as if he were at some royal event or something.

I immediately retracted my and causally wiped my hand on my pants.

"Look I'm flattered pretty boy..."

"So you think I'm pretty." He cut me off with a smirk.

He quickly leaned more onto the table.

"Calm your horses." I put my hands up and slid my chair back. "Not like that buddy. I'm just here to spend some time with my friends and have a few drinks."

"Well if you change your mind I'll be around." He sighed before pushing off the table and wandering away.

"Why did you keep kicking me?" I asked before rubbing my shin.

"You have to be nice to him." Claire warned. "You were glaring at him the whole time."

"He is weird." I raised my voice. "He kissed my hand!"

"He can ruin your image with the snap of a finger. He is literally the only person that is getting more attention in the news than you at the moment."

"Like I care."

"Trust me being the top news story is important." Claire said as Spark showed up with drinks for us.

"I saw Hydron was over here." They raised their eyebrows. "Did Shining behave herself?"

"Barely." Claire stated as I chugged my first drink of the night.
