Shining Heroes

Chapter 56

It's been a few days since Mood and I got into our little argument and my hearing as been steadily coming back, but the one thing I didn't expect was the fact my ears would be so sensitive. It seemed that everyone else knew this already, because most people were being cautious about it.

The only person who didn't care was Golem, and he seemed to be enjoying torturing me with it.

"Hey little lark." Golem leaned against the table we were sitting at with his face away from me. "When do you think you will be taken off babysitting duty?"

"Who said I was babysitting her?" She calmly responded with a smile.

"So you're free tonight?"

I could hear him smirking as he spoke to her. Mood was forcing a smile, but she appeared to be biting her tongue.

"Sorry but I know the higher up wouldn't like the idea of me going out with you."

Wait what does mean?

He pushed himself off the table with a huff before moving out of my sight.

I thought that was the end of the interaction, until the sound of steel slamming together rang in my ears.

I instantly slapped my hands over my ears. A fiery scene played before my eyes and panic fogged my mind.

When the scene disappeared I found myself having a hard time breathing.

I began to hear yelling surrounding me.

*POV change to Melodic mood *

I was about to get up and yell at Golem for clapping in Shining's ear, but Lightspeed and somehow Steel beat me to it.

I looked back at Shining and she was tightly covering her ears while visibly shaking.

"Somethings not right." I mumbled to myself.

I quickly moved around the table and sat next to her. Upon further inspection I noticed she was hyperventilating.

'Oh no she's having a panic attack.' I thought as I realized I had no idea how to help her out.

"Shining?" I questioned softly only for her to slightly flinch.

I looked up just in time to see Steel's foster to come into contact with Golem's chin.

"Dude that's not cool!" Steel yelled. "You know she is having problems with her ears."

"Lightspeed!" I called over to the girl trying to calm everyone down.

Just as she looked over at me a full blown fight started between the two teenagers.

I was already irritated by the way the both of them were acting. I needed Lightspeed's help

"It's like you're banging your head against the same old wall," I began to sing. "Baby, all you got to show is a bruise."

A few of the paniced recruits began to calm down. While it seemed like Steel and Golem were trying to resist and keep fighting.

"Well, it's a crazy thing to do to just keep on repeating all these actions that will only lead to cranial bleeding." The boys froze and began to stare eachother down. "Give up! It's time for you to throw in the towel,

capitulate and raise the white flag."

They both huffed and walked away from eachother. Steel went and sat down at the end of our table while Golem stormed out of the cafeteria.
