Mood followed me up to my apartment despite me telling her I didn't want her to.

She closed the door behind us as I began to change. I didn't waste any time putting the clothes up. I grabbed a black tank top and a random pair of jeans.

"What are you doing?" Mood asked cautiously.

"The less you know, the better." I answered honestly.

"It's my..."

"I'm not a job. I'm your girlfriend." I said, cutting her off.

I sighed as I put on my boots.

"I wasn't going to say that." She said as she gently made me look at her. "It's my duty to you to make sure you won't get yourself hurt."

I could see the concern in her eyes, and I forced myself to look away.

"I need to get him." I stood up and grabbed my bottle of pills and the note Frostbite gave me.

"You don't need those."  She said, looking concerned.

"Mood. I know you don't like them."

"They made them addictive so you'd think you have to rely on them."

"I already knew that." I said, rubbing my eyes with my free hand. "They do boost my powers and distract me from my personal problems, and right now, that's what I need."

"So you're going to risk your safety and health to what. Hunt this man down?"

I could tell she was trying to resist being angry with me.

"Yes, Mood. I am going to do this one way or another." I responded a bit harsher than I planned. "That man killed my best friend. He tried to kill me as well, and he tried to hurt you. This man does not care about who gets hurt, and that makes him a threat to everyone."

"If you're set on this at least, let me come with you." She sighed.

"Fine, you can drive." I said while walking towards the door.

"What about your mask?" She asked as she grabbed it off the floor.

"I don't need it yet."

*POV change to Melodic mood*

I was barely able to keep Shining off the mission lists while she was grieving. I didn't expect it would be even harder to convince her to stay out of trouble right now.

I could see the rage burning in her eyes, but this time, it was different. Before, her rage was coming from pain and shock, but I've never seen her eyes burn with this much hatred and anger.

She said she had to find this man and get justice, but I was worried about what justice meant to her right now.

"Please pull over here." She said softly.

"Why are we..."

"I was serious when I said the less you know, the better." She coldly said. "I know someone here that may know him."

When did she get contacts? What exactly happened while I was gone.

She began to get out of the car, so I followed suit.

"Mood, please stay here." She sighed. "I have to go in alone."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"Mood, this is my only option to find him. All I'm asking is that you trust me."  She sighed before closing the car door.

I could tell if I didn't listen that she would just find a way to come back alone. While every fiber of my being didn't trust this mystery contact, I had to trust her.

"If I don't hear anything within 10 minutes, I'm going to come look for you." I said to her before getting back into the car.

I watched her walk up to a metal door. A man almost twice her size opened the door and looked at her. He looked confused before laughing. He stepped back and began to close the door, but someone stopped him.

I couldn't see who interfered, but the man now motioned for her to go inside.

She didn't even look back before going inside.

Something didn't feel right about this. I waited a couple of minutes before the door opened again. I expected to see Shining, but instead, a young  blonde boy walked outside and walked straight to my car.

He nervously motioned for me to roll my window down.

I barely cracked the window.

"I was told to have you come inside." He said nervously.

"Why should I?"

"Elizabeth said you were more likely to come inside if it was someone non-threatening. She's busy talking to my mom." He mumbled.

I doubted she would have given her name if she was in danger, but everything about this felt wrong.

I carefully followed the boy to the door, and immediately, the man that opened the door for Shining was glaring at me as he let us inside.

There were about 2 or 3 families carefully watching me follow the boy. The younger children I passed looked amazed, but everyone else appeared scared and angry by my presence.

The kid knocked on a door.

"Come in, Jackson." A familiar voice said before the kid opened the door.

As soon as we entered the room, I could feel the temperature continuously changing back and forth from hot to cold.

"I would appreciate it if you didn't burn my table, Elizabeth." The voice began to scold.

"And I would appreciate it if you'd tell me what I am need to know."

I quickly scanned the room and saw a staircase and a couple of doors. Shining was standing at what looked like a dining room table and Frostbite sitting across from her. Shining looked like she was about to set everything on fire.

"You're not thinking logically, Elizabeth." Frostbite sighed. "I'm not going to set you up to go on some suicide missions for revenge."

"You don't get to decide what I do." I could see smoke coming from Shining's hands as she spoke.

"I am very aware of that. I gave up that right a long time ago." She sighed. "Melodic Mood, I am going to trust you this once."

"And if I don't trust you." I asked as I carefully moved closer to Shining.

"I don't want any fighting in my home. If you'd prefer, you can take her and leave." Frostbite stated calmly.

"I'm not leaving without his information." Shining practically growled.

"Melodic Mood. I swear on my son, I only want what is best for everyone right now." She said as the boy that guided me inside walked over to her.

"What do you want?" I asked carefully as I looked around the room.

"I gave her this address." Frostbite carefully explained. "I was hoping she'd come and talk. I never expected her to come here on some man hunt."

"Fuck it. I'll find him myself." Shining raised her voice and began to leave.

I reached out and gently grabbed her arm to prevent her from leaving.

"You can either help me or get out of my way." She coldly muttered without even looking at me.

"Elizabeth, if you keep on this path, you are no better than that man." Frostbite sounded all too calm.

Shining froze as if she was debating something. Then she pulled her arm away from me and stormed out of the room.

I was about to follow her when Frostbite carefully stood up and held out a piece of paper. I cautiously took the paper and looked at what was written on it.

"She is not in a place to make this decision." She calmly said. "I know you lost your friend too, but I trust your judgment when it comes to her."
