Shining Heroes

Chapter 79

*POV is still Melodic mood*

I waited for any sign of General Anderson giving either of us a punishment, but the only thing that ever happened was Shining was continuously placed on a field day with Hydron while I had to stay on base to plan out my show for tonight.

"Are you sure you want to help right now?" Shining asked again while carrying a small box.

"Yea its fine. I have the day off to rest for tonight." I took the box and put it in my trunk.

"That's why I'm asking you should be resting and getting ready." I couldn't help bit smile at her concern.

"I'll be fine. I'd rather help you get settled into your new place than sit around and overthink tonight."

She carefully picked up the cat carrier that Mozart wasnt happy to be in.

"I guess then we're ready to go." She smiled as I opened the passenger door for her.

Along the way she took off her mask and looked over at me.

"Are you excited for tonight?"

"Of course. I've been wanting to perform for people for so long." I said while buckling up. "I wasn't really permitted to because of my powers, but now they are giving me the chance to finally do it."

"Are you nervous at all?" She was staring at me with that lovestruck look she often has.

"Nope." I smiled before turning to face forward to drive.

"Good because you are going to blow them away." I could tell she was beaming with excitement for me.

Before long we arrived at her new place and we had to carry all of her stuff to the top floor. I was surprised when I found the loft apartment was already mostly furnished in a way that screamed it belonged to her.

"Here." Shining said while holding her hand put to me.

I reached out and she places a brass key into my hand.

"I said I was giving you a key." She smiled.

Before long she let Mozart out of his carrier and he ran and cautiously explored the apartment.

For about an hour we sat around her apartment while she procrastinated unpacking her things.

Occasionally Mozart would run across our laps as he chased something he thought he saw.

"He sure does run around a lot more since he got that cast off." I stated as he tried to stop running on the hard wood floors and ended up sliding under her bed.

"He really does." Shining smiled. "It's a good thing he has more room to run around now."

While I was enjoying just sitting around with her talking about random stuff eventually it came time where I had to leave and get ready for tonight.

"You're going to do great tonight." Shining said before quickly kissing my cheek. "Afterwards we should celebrate your first concert."

"Sounds like a plan."

After we parted ways I drove to the stadium where the concert was taking place and was immediately ushered into my dressing room.

"Melodic mood?" Someone outside the dressing room questioned while knocking on the door.

I hesitantly opened the door and it was Illusionary holding a bouquet of white carnations.

"These showed up for you." He held them out to me.
