*POV is still Melodic mood *
We had two options since my car is now frozen, walk or wait for a new car to show up.
Shining wanted to unfreeze it herself but it is too risky for her to risk heating the car up especially in public with the chance the car could explode.
Before I even decided Shining began walking in the direction of her apartment.
She was more silent than she was on the way to this place. Was she disappointed by how everything turned out?
"Shining? Are you..."
"No, I'm not ok..." she almost yelled. "I had no connection with that woman. She's the woman that gave birth to me, but I felt nothing seeing her."
I can't say I understand how much connecting with this woman meant to her, but she seemed to want to get this off her chest.
"Do you want to talk about this?" I asked softly as I caught up to her, but she decided to start walking father.
"I thought maybe seeing her and talking to her would bring some connection to who I am, but all it did was traumatized that poor woman and allow the biggest villain in the city to escape."
I glanced at the ground and could see smoke staring to radiate off of her.
"Firefly it's not your fault." I spoke softly in hope to calm her down a bit.
She stopped in her tracks and looked downward for a moment.
"It is though." She sighed and turned around. "I chose to come here. You wouldn't have even thought twice if it wasn't for me."
I reached out for her hand and she began walking again.
"You're right I wouldn't have done as she said if it wasn't for you, but do you really think I would have done that if I didn't want to?"
I finally manged to grab her hand and make her turn around completely. It was almost at the point of be able to burn my palm.
"I know that, but she still got away..."
I quickly looked around because this wasn't the best place for this conversation, even though the streets were dead.
"Firefly, I am just as much at fault for her getting away." I sighed as I looked away for a moment. "Neither of us could have known she would break out of those cuffs and I don't think she did it alone."
She seemed to be searching my eyes for something, maybe a tell that I was lying. At the same time I could tell she had something else she wanted to say.
"You don't have to hold back what you say with me."
She nodded her head before speaking. "Do you think she set us up?"
I didn't answer immediately and it caused Shining to furrow her eyebrows and looked down.
"She is a villain. She was honest about your mother, but I wouldn't put it past her to have planned something." I gently spoke. "Honestly I'm glad you were firm with her about your terms of following her, because those cuffs most likely ruined any plans she had."
Unfortunately that didn't come her down enough to stop smoking.
"Shining I know you are upset, but you need to cool off a bit. Otherwise you might end up catching fire."
I didn't want to risk the higher ups thinking she isn't incontrol of her powers still. Especially since she is still at risk of being decommissioned if she doesn't anything they think is wrong.
"I just wanna go home..." she sighed like she was defeated.
"We can do that."
*POV change to Shining Dragon*
We walked silently back to my apartment. The entire time I was trying to figure out why I let that woman get in my head.
I opened the door for Mood to go inside but instead she just stood there.
"Are you coming in?"
"Well I'd love to stay, but I've got about an hour and a half to get ready for the show tonight."
She has a show tonight?
She just stood there and stared at me. I'm sure she could read my mind at this point and she already know what I was thinking.
"You forgot."
"I'm sorry..."
How could I forget. What kind of girlfriend am I?
"You don't need to beat yourself up." She sighed. "You're already having a rough day and you need to focus on something else." She quickly changed to have a soft smiled on her face.
"I'll have to see..."
"Well at this point if you want to go to the show you can't go as Elizabeth tickets are sold out." As Mood spoke I felt my heart sink.
I was too caught up over my issues I missed a chance to get tickets to her show.
"Although heroes don't have to buy tickets in exchanged for 'security' work." She used air quotes as she spoke.
"So what exactly would I be doing?"
"Well other than keep an eye on the crowd. Whatever you want." She smirked as she decided to head away from me. "Get ready and meet me at the concert hall in 30."
