Somehow things got weird while the interview went on and they managed to force me into agreeing to take Claire to the hero gala.

I finally managed to make it to the base after what felt like an eternity of questioning and a prolonged ride home.

I was so tired I almost missed Steel standing at my door.

"Oh Shining, I thought you were already back..." He smiled wearily as he noticed Claire walking with me.

"I forgot about what we talked about." I mumbled to myself. "Umm. If you give me about fifteen minutes. I'll change and we can meet."

"Thanks. I'll be right back then." He said before running off to who knows where.

"When did you guys become friends?" Claire followed me into my room.

"Well he drank with us and was pretty chill." As soon as my door closed I immediately began to shed the suit.

"Like I know I'm friends with him, so I thought that's why you let him stay."

Does she really not know me that well?

"Claire I'm not gonna just boot someone without reason, you know this." I stated trying to hold back my surprise. "He's actually a really nice guy, and he's been showing it since he stopped hanging out with Golem."

I quickly put on my training shirt with a pair of faded blue jeans.

"I hadn't noticed." She mumbled with a slight blush.

"Well I think he's a good guy so he's welcome to hang out anytime." I smirked and turned back to my closet.

"I'm gonna go change too." Claire stated calmly before speeding out of my room.

I decided on grabbing a simple red jacket, before grabbing a pair of wireless earbuds.

After I doubled checked that I had everything I needed I left to find Steel.

Sure enough he was waiting patiently in the common room.

"Hey you ready to go?"

"Yes." He quickly jumped up like I had surprised him.

He quietly followed me through the halls. Occasionally he saluted higher ranked officers, I'm guessing that mean he was raised in a military family or something.

"Wait are we going to the roof?"

"Yes. Unless you want a training room, but there might be people there."

"The roof is great." He quickly muttered as his face went red.

We quickly ascended the stairs and he politely opened the door for me.

"See already at a good start." I smiled as we walked through the door.

"If you tell anyone about this..." His face wasnt as red anymore.

"You'll kick my ass, I already know the drill."

I reached into my pocket and pulled out the earbuds. I quickly paired them up to  my phone as I began to play some music.

"Here put this in your ear." I reached and earbud out to him.

"Why?"

"Well you said you want to impress a girl, so we got a few things to go over so I can see where you need help."

He nodded his head and took the earbud. He hesitated before putting the earbud in and was immediately surprised.

"This is what we're dancing to?"
