After playing never have I ever they were no longer as insistent on me drinking more, so the drinking became a bit more causal for me.

Because of that Claire and Steel gradually became incoherent as they took up trying to figure out who could drink more by the time we hit the second bottle of a stronger alcohol.

"Do you think we should cut them off?" Mood whispered after the bottle hit the half way point.

We both looked at the two who were huddled under a blanket and had just recently grabbed the bottle from us.

My head was feeling a bit foggy from the game, but I took the bottle from them and took a drink as I went back over to Mood.

"I think you've had more than your share too." She laughed and grabbed the bottle.

"Fair enough I wouldn't want to drag three people to their rooms either." I said before I plopped down into my seat.

Unfortunately for me by balance was off and I ended up sliding back further than I planned. I ended up leaning back into Mood's shoulder, but I found myself staring up at the night sky.

"It sucks we can barely see any stars."

"You really like stars dont you?" She asked as she slightly leaned back herself to look upwards. "I noticed the ceiling in your old room was covered with them."

"Yeah it's the only thing I remember about my birth mother. She use to have a tapestry covering the ceiling. It was full of various constellations that she would tell me about if I had trouble sleeping."

"I'm sorry." She sounded like she crossed over a line.

"Dont be. It doesn't make me sad." I sat up and turned to face her. "I just see it as a sign I need to do the best I can so I can reach the stars."

Claire had mumbled something about me lying. I was going to brush it off until I realized Mood had actually understood her.

"I think she said you lied about remembering your scar." Mood quietly translated her drunken words.

"It wasn't a lie." I instinctively placed a hand on my shoulder where the scar started. "I dont remember getting it. I just know it happened the day my birth parents died. It was a really bad car accident and I was the only survivor."

Mood didn't press any further on the topic. Maybe she was worried about it making me sad or something.

"Hey so you know a bit of my hectic childhood. What about yours? What was life like for little Melodic mood?"

"There isnt much to tell. I have two sisters and I was isolated most of my life." She opened the bottle and took another drink.

"Oh you have sisters?" I asked with a smirk. "Let me guess you're the oldest?"

She looked surprised so I assumed I guessed right.

"You dont act like you'd be the youngest. My second guess would have been middle child." I smiled and leaned back. "And with how protective you get oldest was my first guess."

"Well someone has to stop you from being reckless sometimes."

I couldn't tell with her tone if she was joking with me or not, but it made me realize how I was reckless again tonight.

Was she upset about that? Maybe we were just too caught up and she didn't realize it yet.

"Hey I'm sorry about earlier tonight, but I couldn't let you take that hit. You said you yourself not many people could survive her attacks."I may have been rambling a bit. "I mean just look what it did to Reaper." The image of his wing shattering hit my mind again. "What she aimed at you could have..."
